Though certainly, some people do have a measure of rebellion against their parents. I don't think it is a terribly large percentage, though.

To clarify, the researchers claim could be disproven by studying this question: Did you begin smoking regularly before or after you realized you were gay? Most would answer that they started before. Correlation... causation... who needs them?
