Wow, that's always been a fantasy of mine...

Crap. It's a surrogate mother thing. And I was hoping to read about some really good incest.

Thank goodness they were able to breed, because, god knows, there is certainly a shortage of people in India.

/idiots.

One more way to add to overcrowding.

/stands on soapbox/

I think barren women are that way for a reason and shouldn't go about finding someone to help them play God.

It was for Indians living in London, smarty pants.

Er, actually, they'd be their own aunts and uncles. Either the grandma or the genetic mother is the "mother" and the father is the genetic father. As children of their grandma, but not their parents, they would be aunts and uncles and nephews of themselves.

Guess we'd better sell the car and house, give the money to charity, strip down and find ourselves a wildlife preserve to live in. Gotta go with the bodies we're born with. The whole "long life span" thing, more so than birthrate, is really the primary factor in overcrowding, but by sacrificing modern medicine, nutrition, and comfortable living, I'm sure we could shorten 'em up some.

Quick1 2004-01-30 06:36:15 PM
If they masturbate, is that incest?

downstairs [TotalFark] 2004-01-30 06:42:18 PM
CheekyMunky:

Yeah, but it would be moronic to actively do something to shorten our lifespan. Its NOT moronic to do something about the birthrate, as this doesn't affect anyone that is alive.

I fully agree with freelee. Even here in America.

Sure, we may not be *physically* overcrowded... but we are certainly economically and socially overcrowded.

Zabbadizzat [TotalFark] 2004-01-30 06:51:56 PM
I wish I could knock up my Grandma. She's always wearing thong underwear. Looks like a sockfull of lumpy oatmeal with a rubber band wrapped around it.

I am in favor of bare women. Some are goddesses.

Who are these people--Albert Einstein and Madame Curie? Is it SO important that their genes get carried on. Has India run out of orphans?

Is adopting so wrong?

mrCasual 2004-01-30 08:44:00 PM
OK, so what happens if the twins invent a time machine, go back in time, and kill the mother but not the grandmother. I'm guessing the universe reboots.

'They immediately were given tech support jobs exported from America.'

JohnnyontheSpot 2004-01-30 11:04:37 PM
This was a lot less icky than the headline implies.

Of course, I should have known it wasn't incest when I saw that it takes place in India, not Kentucky.

SpiderBites 2004-01-30 11:05:34 PM
I'm pretty drunk. I knew there was some logical flaw in that headline. While trying to figure it out, my head exploded. Now I'm dead. Thanks a lot.

little miss...... yeah, adoption is what I was thinking too!

rabidgoldfish 2004-01-30 11:10:26 PM
Oh yes, the great time travel paradox.

You can't alter the past because that would negate the reason for traveling back ergo nothing would happen.

Slick aint it.

I'm my own grandpa. I'm my own grandpa!
It sounds silly I know, but it really is so.
I'm my own grandpa.

i had a baby tonight too! although im not my own grandpa or anything cool like that.

Admit it. When you read the article, your mind was doing an Apu accent.

moriarty23 2004-01-30 11:12:59 PM
I wanted to abort myself after reading this thread. Your words of wisdom have shown me the light, I'm going to give myself up for adoption to a Mr. Jack Daniels.

Yes, Invoker, I always sing that song when I read stories like this, and people who've never heard that song look at me like I'm insane.

Thanks to you, I feel sane! Sane I TELL YOU!!!

SANE!!!!

Hahahahahahhahahhahaaa!

ahem.

SpiderBites 2004-01-30 11:17:31 PM
Just wanted to complete Invoker's thought. Does this make sense?

Many many years ago when I was twenty three,
I got married to a widow who was pretty as could be.

This widow had a grown-up daughter Who had hair of red.
My father fell in love with her, And soon the two were wed.

This made my dad my son-in-law And changed my very life.
My daughter was my mother, For she was my father's wife.

To complicate the matters worse, Although it brought me joy. I
soon became the father Of a bouncing baby boy.

My little baby then became A brother-in-law to dad.
And so became my uncle, Though it made me very sad.

For if he was my uncle, Then that also made him brother
To the widow's grown-up daughter Who, of course, was my step-mother.

Father's wife then had a son, Who kept them on the run.
And he became my grandson, For he was my daughter's son.

My wife is now my mother's mother And it makes me blue.
Because, although she is my wife, She's my grandma too.

If my wife is my grandmother, Then I am her grandchild.
And every time I think of it, It simply drives me wild.

For now I have become The strangest case you ever saw.
As the husband of my grandmother, I am my own grandpa!!

Thought for sure it was going to be about the Ottawa valley.

I was working in the visit room at a correctional facility when an inmate's mother and pregnant sister came to visit him. The first words out of his mouth upon seeing his sister's condition were: "You can't blame this one on me! I been in jail!"

Hey Invoker, here's the entire lyrics.

I'm My Own Grandpa
( Lonzo & Oscar )

It sounds funny, I know,
But it really is so,
Oh, I'm my own grandpa.

I'm my own grandpa.
I'm my own grandpa.
It sounds funny, I know,
But it really is so,
Oh, I'm my own grandpa.

Now many, many years ago, when I was twenty-three,
I was married to a widow who was pretty as could be.
This widow had a grown-up daughter who had hair of red.
My father fell in love with her, and soon they, too, were wed.

This made my dad my son-in-law and changed my very life,
My daughter was my mother, cause she was my father's wife.
To complicate the matter, even though it brought me joy,
I soon became the father of a bouncing baby boy.

My little baby then became a brother-in-law to Dad,
And so became my uncle, though it made me very sad.
For if he was my uncle, then that also made him brother
Of the widow's grown-up daughter, who, of course, was my stepmother.

Father's wife then had a son who kept him on the run,
And he became my grandchild, for he was my daughter's son.
My wife is now my mother's mother, and it makes me blue,
Because, although she is my wife, she's my grandmother, too.

Now if my wife is my grandmother, then I'm her grandchild,
And everytime I think of it, it nearly drives me wild,
For now I have become the strangest case you ever saw
As husband of my grandmother, I am my own grandpa!

I'm my own grandpa.
I'm my own grandpa.
It sounds funny, I know, but it really is so,
Oh, I'm my own grandpa.

well, if miracles like this happen, why is it so hard to beleive in a miracle like immaculate conception, that brought our lord in to his kingdom?

HAHAHAHAHAHA. Sorry guys. couldn't help it. although, technically immaculate conception is possible, do a google search for "Facultative parthenogenesis." it's where an animal more or less produces a fertile egg from her own infertile self. no sperm necesarry. usually tho, doesn't happen in mammals. mostly creatures like snakes and beatles.

/too biology for my own good.

To quote Apu (from India, ironically), "After all, the world is dangerously underpopulated." WTF? Can't they adopt some kids or some other alternative besides contributing to overpopulation?

hmmm....in law, i was adopted by my grandmother..so in a legal sense..i am my own aunt......

Rekhaben Patel (name changed) from Anand, 100 km from state capital Gandhinagar, decided to become a surrogate mother for her London-based daughter Dharti (name changed).

"Rekhaben Patel" is probably the Indian version of "John Doe."

/doesn't know any Indian people not named Patel

Hey Qonas:
(ObNameDropping) FWIW I had a few classes in college with the girl who played Molly O'Brien (tho' I only read about it in her imdb entry when I saw her on Titus...).

Was even supposed to be in a university recruiting video with her, but was cut at the last minute. So she's gone one to be in The Movies and I'm... pissing around on Fark. *sigh*
