its a trap... for nerds without girlfriends...

stevarooni 2003-12-03 02:30:44 PM
Far be it for me to complain about "hot blondes wearing next to nothing", but *shakes his head*.

LarsThorwald [TotalFark] 2003-12-03 02:36:29 PM
Hot Blondes in Space is just another advancement that we can look forward to...

If only, you know, we started by going to the moon again.

Like that's ever going to happen.

kerouac555 2003-12-03 02:38:44 PM
she's wearing a lot more than nothing.

TheConvincingSavant 2003-12-03 02:44:53 PM
Makes one wish this new series was airing on HBO.

Nabb1 [TotalFark] 2003-12-03 02:47:01 PM
I, for one, welcome our new robotic, hot, blonde, wearing-next-to-nothing overl-

Oh, nevermind.

Crusader [TotalFark] 2003-12-03 03:16:27 PM
I agree with Nabb1. They can dominate me anytime.

This (fap fap) is an (fap fap) OUTRAGE!!!! (fap).

rrtt22 2003-12-03 04:55:33 PM
Lets see, Why would they make cylons into women and starbuck into a woman?

Could it be a cheap ploy to attract young male viewers.

exick [TotalFark] 2003-12-03 04:55:51 PM
So how long until Miss Norway has a bit part as a Cylon?

SuburbanCowboy 2003-12-03 05:45:29 PM
I am not really in to sci-fi, but the commercials for this look really good. I will definitely check itout.

mustang_dvs 2003-12-03 06:28:15 PM
From what I've read, the mini-series simultaneously sucks and blows, creating the possibility of a quantum paradox that will destroy reality as we know it.

whatever

I was never a fan of the original show, which was slightly before my time (unless you count Galactica80), and have no interest in this drivel.

Oh, and one more thing... You'd think that they would have at least Photoshopped the picture to remove her nasty prominent veins and all the hair on her arms.

Broktun 2003-12-03 07:30:59 PM
Did I see a camel toe??

Sounds like you might be happier with a Real Doll than an actual woman.

SurfGirl69 2003-12-03 07:34:16 PM
Next to nothing?

I do not think it means what you think it means.

""We love it," SCI FI Channel president Bonnie Hammer told the assembled guests"

They said they loved farscape too.

fluffy2097 2003-12-03 07:36:06 PM
That hair really puts me off. Simply not hot.

Ragnar [TotalFark] 2003-12-03 07:36:11 PM
I like my Cylons tin-canny, thank you. Certainly nice to look at, but not a cylon.

ChubFrog 2003-12-03 07:36:32 PM
"We love it," SCI FI Channel president Bonnie Hammer told the assembled guests.

Proving once again that the powers-that-be at the SciFi channel know absolutely nothing about what constitutes good sci-fi television.

safeinsane 2003-12-03 07:36:47 PM
By your command. By your command, indeed.

Cylons in Nylons. Hmmm....

*run and checks if domain cylonsinnylons.com is taken*

As long as there is no funny looking kid reversing the polarity of the Phaser Array every other show....

spocko 2003-12-03 07:38:43 PM
mustang_dvs Snicker, snort.

Which reminds me of the game suck and blow that Conan O'Brien played with Rebecca Romain Stamos on his talk show.
God I wish I had Tivo for That scene. Did anyone else see that?

STAMOS!!!!

Re: BStarG. Here is the deal. I love SF. I Love Movies and TV. I love good SF books. It saddens me that great SF rarely makes it to TV or the Movies.

Deosyne 2003-12-03 07:39:39 PM
I don't see the problem. Every part in any movie or show should be played by hot blondes wearing next to nothing. Certainly wouldn't make most of that crap any worse.

manderx 2003-12-03 07:39:52 PM
that chick looks like a dude in some of the shots.

protoman 2003-12-03 07:40:18 PM
Starbuck..... is a woman?

BWAHAHAHAHA!! Bring the popcorn!! This fanboy war is going to be more epic than Lord of the Rings and twice as bloodly as the Jar-Jar Star Wars fiasco.

Cyburbia 2003-12-03 07:40:35 PM

I'd hit it!

Scut Farkas 2003-12-03 07:40:38 PM
I hear they made Boomer an Asian girl and Starbuck a girl too.
Step 3 = Profit

Ace Rockola 2003-12-03 07:40:59 PM
That gives me a great idea for Episode 3. Instead of the Clone Troopers being clones of Temuera Morrison, they are clones of Charlize Theron. And they inherit her fondness for nakedivity.

BorgHunter 2003-12-03 07:41:02 PM
If that little tiny bit of cleavage is "next to nothing", I have to introduce the headline writer to a little something called "porn".

However, I like the concept...

who-killed-john-lennon 2003-12-03 07:42:03 PM
I'd like to see her fight some of the gay robots from Star Wars.

Akuinnen 2003-12-03 07:42:06 PM
Great idea!
This kind of thing worked great for Star Trek Voyager.

Well.. not really.

swahnhennessy 2003-12-03 07:42:11 PM
Her name was Number 6? Good grief, going for that Borg-babe market, I guess. The producers figured there wasn't enough in the show to keep their target demographic interested so they throw in some tits. Wonderful. I don't know if I'm being sarcastic or not.

gorillagorillagorilla 2003-12-03 07:42:34 PM

"As long as she doesn't touch my Kermie."

zodar99 2003-12-03 07:42:41 PM
If they're going to have backlit camel toes, I'm just going to have to root for the Cylons. I'm only human, for chrissakes.

SpinStopper [TotalFark] 2003-12-03 07:43:23 PM
I'm going to reserve judgement on this one until after I see it. Advance publicity, and criticism, tend to be misleading.

I learned my lesson with The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. What a piece of tripe.

BTW, I was (and still am) a fan of the original Galactica series. But not Galactica 1980 *shudder*

ChadM89 2003-12-03 07:44:18 PM
I like when I can see the bottoms of the buttocks from the front. That means it's a good view angle.

In other news, I like sci-fi crap and I will certainly watch the premiere. Whether or not I continue watching will, of course, be based on said premiere - but the trailers make it look very good... not that that means anything.

bucketoftruth 2003-12-03 07:44:31 PM
The "chicks as cylons" trick is because they have shizzle for budget and can't afford to do convincing *real* cylons. The few scenes that include the actual cylons are dark and shodowy and you only see a hint of an appendage. As best as I can tell it's HRG's Alien with a Robocop/KITT helmet. Pretty disappointing.

Like everything else that trys to succeed on smoke and mirrors, rather than actual story and plot, it will suXxz0r big A55. I'm looking forward to the new Dr. Who.

LemonCurry 2003-12-03 07:44:49 PM

Whoops, wrong show...

SciFi network lost all credibility when they replaced Farscape with Tremors: The Series.

Bwahahah.

OMG!!11!! j00 4r3 pwn3d!!! LOL!!!111!!!

But seriously, you should just pay your rent money to VoodooKaka, 'cause he owns you now. I'm cryin' over here, that Real Doll crack-back was priceless!

safeinsane 2003-12-03 07:46:24 PM

That thing scared me...

And they need to bring back those chicks with 4 eyes and 2 mouths. Yeah, boyyyeee.

I read an interview with Edward James Olmos (Commander Adama) and HE said "If you're a BIG fan of the original, don't watch this one."

I think the new series will be cool but not the same as the old. Which is OK with me. BTW, does Richard Hatch (Apollo) have anything to do with this one? I remember he had been trying to resurrect the series for some time. Even put some of his own money into it...

I couldn't visit the site, the machine I was using downstairs didn't like what that site was doing. Set off some alarms...

stoatbringer 2003-12-03 07:50:48 PM
Aren't Cylons supposed to be sort of lizard-things?

Cyburbia 2003-12-03 07:50:59 PM

Marf! Marf! Hit it! Marf!

IAmSuperBeast 2003-12-03 07:51:36 PM
yeah, Galactica 1980 is like the 4th season of Airwolf, us true nerds like to pretend it never happened. And as a fan of the original show, and a bigger fan of the original Cylons, I have this to say: I'd still hit it, but god damn if that's a Cylon. And on another note, anyone see the Sci-Fi special Galactica: The Low-Down? The chick playing Starbuck is a real biatch about the whole thing. And oh yeah, the original Galactica cast thinks this series sucks. So lets see, what has Sci-Fi done this year to win over the fans?
1: Cancel Farscape
2: Cancel B5
3: Cancel Tremors
4: Make a horrible horrible remake of a cult classic and say "we did it for the fans." Have I missed anything?

Chaotixx 2003-12-03 07:51:47 PM
She's pretty hairy, with that backlighting glistening off her lovely folicles on her fore-arms.
