Is it really THAT difficult to get a system consisting of a big block of metal, some length of chain, and a big motor to work properly? Come on folks.... you're just not trying anymore.

SimuLord 2003-08-17 10:02:22 PM
C'mon, just chain the engine block from an old Ford to the deck and throw it overboard. Voila.

/gm and chrysler also acceptable

Come rede me, dame, come tell me, dame,
My dame come tell me truly,
What length o' graith, when weel ca'd hame
Will sair a woman duly?
The carlin clew her wanton tail,
Her wanton tail sae ready
I learn'd a sang in Annandale,
Nine inch will please a lady.
But for a koontrie coont like mine,
In sooth, we're nae sae gentle;
We'll tak tway thumb-bread to the nine,
And that's a sonsy p-ntle:
O Leeze me on my Charlie lad,
I'll ne'er forget my Charlie!
Tway roarin handfu's and a daud,
He nidge't it in fu' rarely.

But weary fa' the laithron doup,
And may it ne'er be thrivin!
It's no the length that maks me loup
But it's the double drivin.
Come nidge me, Tam, come nidge me, Tam,
Come nidge me o'er the nyvel!
Come lowse and lug your battering ram,
And thrash him at my gyvel!

I doubt the Titanic ever got to use its anchor- it went from Liverpool to Southampton and then crossed the Atlantic? Somewhere at the bottom of the ocean is a perfectly good, unused anchor- what a tragedy...

redsky 2003-08-19 09:45:38 AM
It was made in Devon, England.
Explains everything.
