When I went to bed last night I had a minah bird in a cage. When I woke up this morning I had a snake in a cage with a fat bulge that meant he couldn't get out. :(

Thanks, Yzzie, I appreciate that. Didn't mean to be Buzz Killington there. I'm working through this patch.

Unsolicited testimonial time: Photoshopping is good therapy!

Ugh...that's horrid. :( My sympathies. I can't fault the snake for just making a living, but it always sucks to lose a pet to an accident like that.

Was he a young bird? The snake doesn't look that large, but maybe it's just that picture.

Wow. That just leaves me speechless. My condolences for your loss.

/I knew a Mynah bird that lived in a rest home. The residents taught him to say "About Time!" when someone came into the lobby. Funny and sad at the same time.

The bird was about 3-4 months old, my MiL found it one morning just before the cats got to it. She tried to release it a few weeks ago but it came back. It was a welfare bird.

Bird (^) about a month ago.

The snake was a good 4-5 feet long. I released it into the forest at the back of my house and it slithered gracefully up into a bamboo thicket, probably to digest its breakfast :/

Laz Long: Wow. That just leaves me speechless. My condolences for your loss.

Thanks muchly but it isn't really a big deal to me, although MiL seems a bit bummed out since she had hand reared it since it was tiny.

My wife farking hates snakes and has been jumping at her own shadow all day. They are both a bit pissed at me for not killing it, Thais sort of automatically kill snakes as soon as they see them (often for food, but in this case they wanted revenge I think).

Here's another pic (^) before we return to our scheduled pixel pushing talk.

/sorry for the off topic posts.

slackist: So sorry for the loss of your bird. I think you did the right thing in releasing the snake. It's not like you found surveilance gear suggesting the act was premeditated. But if you do, run away.

Laz Long: I was confused (shocking) earlier and thought the copied pic was in a thread that had already posted and was several hours old. That's why i mentioned about the perp being 'long gone'. I actually looked at the thread/pic in question - hey, try to remember... brain clouds here - and saw that it was an upcoming thread! So yeah, I would be upset too. So of my suggestions, (a) for sure and what you did looks good.

As my 'clarity' increases (i think), I'm coming to the conclusion that I should be seen and not heard.

It's really, really hard to tell what color people's eyes are in black and white pictures.

There's no point to this comment other than that this fact has been causing me problems in colorizations lately.

I usually base them on the hair color: blonde->blue eyes, red head-> green eyes, brown hair->brown eyes, black hair -> black/dark brown eyes.
Not the most accurate system, I know, but it works for me.

I usually do that, also. The one I'm working on now is a famous person, though, so I'd like to be accurate. I know his son has blue eyes, so I was hoping his wife had brown eyes, meaning his must have been blue in order to have a blue-eyed son. No such luck, though: wife had blue eyes, so his could be blue or brown. Or perhaps green.

Why yes, I do tend to overthink things.

That shrubbery tennis volley is bizarre beyond belief! Some of those things get definitively psychedelic! I mean, I don't know about you wackos, but if I were perusing that in an altered state [oh, do I wish] it might be a little hard to take.

lol whut?

That soo reminds me of one of my favorite Terry Pratchett books ("Thief of Time") where Susan&Co confuse the Auditors by, among other things, leaving behind signs that read "Left" and have an arrow pointing to the right.

I'd say no because I don't want to get crushed in the voting by Ennuipoet's exquisite use of lens flare.

I was intrigued by the plus-sized gal in the album pic (looks a lot like my daughter-in-law) and checked out their website. There were several full length tracks from their albums so I listened to a couple of them. Not my cup of tea, but they weren't too bad.

What about submitting a theme that is a tennis match. The idea being that people should vote for them most creative additions/modifications. An 'O' is posted, and every post after that is a free-for-all.
