This.

Plus if the guy was spending his $150 on 2 hookers, imagine how ugly they must've been. $150 doesn't get you crap in Vegas.

/or so I'm told

For $150 you can get the best looking hookers in Detroit. So yes, you're right.

Seriously. The only time I went gambling, I got up to around a $100 in blackjack off a $20, but I was just having fun. It didn't come close to my mind that I was doing well off. And hell, this was in Panama, so multiply those values roughly by 3 for a US comparison to the local costs.

Didn't click, but I can guess at the outcome. The women stole his dough and drove off together cross-country until they reached the Grand Canyon, where they drove over the edge and plunged, yodeling all the way, into the depths.

I've been in many casinos in many cities in many countries, and Detroit's casinos are the only ones I've ever found too sad and depressing to gamble in. Hell, even having a drink at the bar was a downer.

Its actually a very nice casino, the building is only a few years old, it has very nice restaurants and nicer hotel rooms than Bellagio.

Were it the MGM in Vegas, $150 would have bought about two rounds of drinks for the three of them. Were it the Mandalay, it would have bought him the privilege of starting at a bottle of Kessler from across the casino.

$150? Most places, a decent hotel room will eat up 90% of that payday. I kept re-reading the headline looking for the "thousand" I missed the time before.

CheddarPants: According to their website they do have penny slots. Even if you win, you're still a loser.

I am not poor, but when when I go to gamble I am so cheap I can't bear the thought of losing real money. You would be amazed at how trilling nickel slots, $3 craps, dollar roulette and putting $5 on a football game at the sports book can be. Well it can be thrilling to me at least. I like to gamble and I know I will never hit a huge win this way. I will never lose an amount that makes me regret going either.

thirdful 2010-03-10 10:54:57 PM
I put down $150 for maybe 5 minutes at the roulette table. This is just down right sad.

Walked away -$150 and walked away up $1400. Either way I go for fun and they give me free drinks in IL, so losing doesnt really worry me that much. I've seen people here throw down more and leave with a smile either way.

Heh, I went on one of the SunCruz gambling boats out of Tampa. It wasnt a very big boat and the seas were like 4-6 ft in the gulf. Half the passengers were wrapped up in blankets on the top deck seasick. I didn't get seasick but the buffet still sucked.

Double down: Man says women wanted to party after he won at MGM Grand, asked him to jump in shower, robbed him at gumpoint
By Ric Romero| MLive.com
March 10, 2010, 8:47AM

A Recently released snowflake from the burbs says he was on a stroll Monday night: He won enough money to pay for one night (Single) at the MGM Grand in Detroit, met two alleged women who said they wanted to "party", got a motel room, and immediately lost his mind for no good reason. I cannot imagine cocaine was in anyway involved.

His luck ended there.

Fox 2 reports the man called 911 minutes later to report the "alleged" women had robbed him at guMpoint in a room at the Econo Lodge on That street, you know, over in MadDog Heights.

"They took my money. They took my Social Security number. They took my (driver's) license, and they took my I-Phone," he told this savvy gumshoe, asking not to be identified. Because, really, who gives out their social security number to 2 alleged women in the shower? I mean, like, we're all wet here, and if those leads are really as hot as you say they are, sure, my nads will get a jolt. But you two are still standing in the pudddle. Heck, I digress...
and have never been in the shower with two alleged women before.
Let alone those two.
Especially the redhead.

MadDawqg Heights police are looking for the women, who called themselves "Broomhitlta" and "Rodaney." They were last seen in a renteal vehicle that was paid for in cash.

"They are armed and dangerous, as far as we are aware at this point, and they should be treated as such," Lt. Corey Haines told Fox 2.

If you've seen their ad on Craig's List, call MadDieSon Heights police at (for a good time call.........

I work in a small locals casino in Reno. $150 can be a big win to small time gamblers. I was in Detroit when the Motor City Casino opened as a trainer. Big weekend (2 week stint for me). Good times until I landed in Henry Ford Hospital because of a cervical something or other...

What was I getting at?

Oh yeah, winning $20 is big business to some small time gamblers. Funny to watch but I'd rather see someone lose $20 than the one who owes $1900 for losses when their total losses are over $30k this year alone

I hate/love this business
