A 300 lb sculpture in Rhode Island? That must have covered at least half the state. How did the 2 residents not see it go missing??

People who steal sculptures from public areas and cemeteries to sell at scrap yards are pieces of shiat.

The cops managed to get this one back (in pieces) just the other day

I can't find the link simply because I can't remember the artist's name but a couple of years back a sculptor went into his private sculpture garden w/ guests only to find a couple million dollars worth of his art had been stolen. Since he's in the middle of the desert and did a lot of traveling it was possible that thieves rented heavy machinery in hopes to get a few grand worth of scrap out of it. It makes me ill thinking of that kind of thing.

I think I'm glad my entire exposure to Jersey Shore has been limited to the first paragraph of its Wikipedia entry.

Was it this gal? Probably more articulate than the Jersey Shore cast (combined)

It isn't actually all that hard to get a 300 pound statue into a truck. That is if you don't mind scratching the hell out of it.

Prolly worth a couple hundred $ as scrap metal.

Had someone pop open every streetlight on our block to steal the copper a few months back. The scumbags stealing from cemetaries is extremely depressing, prolly tweekers.
/ducks cbcs's stab attempts

Came in to say the same thing. Sadly, this sculpture is probably already in pieces, too.

You know, I don't even really watch TV, but I happen to stumble upon this Jersey Shore show....

... it's like a train wreck, I couldn't not watch it.

But, when it comes down to it, they really aren't all that bad people, just kinda full of themselves.

Noekken 2010-03-10 12:50:23 PM
It was a deftly crafted piece, incorporating both bold and subtle expressions of the beauty of the form.

- not the statute; Subby's headline.

She's too short and too thin to weigh 300 lbs, unless of course she was exceptionally dense....

Hell no. Fall River all the way, paying for drugs. Almost wondering if they're dumb enough to try and send it to Mid-City Scrap to recycle it.

\i'm about 15 miles from there, maybe 25 minutes or so
