Shouldn't you really have had your architect's license revoked for designing a building that any 4 year old could have thought up?

Wait, people go to Waffle House for anything other than breakfast?

The dirtier and nastier the Waffle House, the better the food. I had an egg sandwich with pickles and mayo at the dumpiest dingiest WH in Roanoke VA. It was so good it would make you slap your grandma.

we've approved prefab steel building shop drawings more interesting than a waffle house.

Were you expecting haute cuisine? It's the farking Waffle House, for crying out loud! It's supposed to be bad. That's why it's so good.

I'll have an order of fat, with extra fat, a side of fat and carbs, and some extra carbs, for good measure.

Grilled Cheese and Bacon Sandwich, Hash Brown scattered well, and a side of Chili. Good cold weather food.

And I disagree with mantrum, the coffee at WH is good, PROVIDED you get a fresh-made cup.

I think the food at the Waffle House tastes better when Jesus Christ arrives for his coffee at 2 A.M.

I'll hit the local WH about once a month when I don't
feel like fixing my own breakfast on weekends. Coffee is always hot, the eggs always perfectly done over easy, the toast never burnt, the hunchbacked waitress with one eye always friendly. What's not to like?

mortimer_ford 2010-02-09 03:01:47 PM
A long time ago I had dinner at one of the earlier Waffle Houses. Behind the building there is a cliff that overlooks some highway. The place is proximate to an abandoned asylum if it's still there at all. Do any Atlantans know what I'm referring to? I've lost memory of the location.

Send your answer to post 63.

I live in CA and was in NC visiting friends this weekend. Went to WH before my flight yesterday. It's a tradition.

We had family members from England who had never been to one and we were just explaining how they're all alike to keep costs down.

I has a sad.

And a clogged arteries.

I had heard from various people about how good the food was, but I had steak and eggs and I swear the steak had gone rancid. Plus, IIRC, there was some kind of congealed gravy involved. Uggghhhh. This was in central Arkansas, and I did have me some great food on the trip, especially the smoked ribs. Yum.
