If you're not rich, white, in perfect physical shape, drive a nice car, and live in a nice part of town, you're probably breaking some law or another.

One day at around 1 am my friend and I were getting some snacks from the E-Z Mart. We pulled out of the parking lot and he turned on his headlights (should have had them on from the time he started driving, I guess). Next thing we see are blue lights in the rear-view mirror. The cop comes up to the window and says "saw you flick on your lights back there, just wanted to make sure you were alright" or some bull to that effect all the while peering into and around the car (my friend and I are both long-haired hippy looking folk so I guess he assumed we had drugs). He tried to tell my friend he couldn't drive with his license, that it was a leaner's license (it wasn't), and generally hassled us before finally letting us go. So funny to me that turning on your headlights when it is dark is suddenly a valid reason to pull someone over. We had just pulled out of the lot too.
