I got the vaccine a few weeks ago. I will live to reseed the planet after all you vaccine naysayers are dust.

So is pneumonia, heart disease, cancer, the regular flu, malaria, and anything else you can think of.

A friend of ours died on Christmas eve. He was 50. Nice guy, healthy, good habits. Complications of H1N1. Leaves behind wife and teenage son.

Got my vaccine back in December. No side effects whatsoever. Probably a good idea, seeing as how I've been doing a lot of flying lately.

I promised myself a Nintendo Wii and Wii Fit if I caught H1N1. Either I don't get sick, or I get a Wii. I like those odds.

Why all the hype?

I wouldn't call the medical response hype (that's the media). But regardless:
-- H1N1 came along too late to be included in the seasonal flu vaccination.
-- A separate vaccination/education program had to be created on top of the usual annual procedures
-- Thus H1N1 is in the news a lot
-- TV news people are science-illiterate with no ability to put things in perspective or proportion

Check with your city & county, they may be providing vaccination.

I got my H1N1 vaccination for ten dollars. And that was without using insurance.
