Fox should buy "Hoarders" and add a studio audience to the mix.

Lord, I'd watch that every week AND write in for tickets.

This isn't a Fox News series, you nitwits.

It's going to suck ass, anyway. Game shows with kids always do.

I love how in the commercials a kid is considered a genius because he knew the hexadecimal code for black. The kid stands there and goes "000000" and the audience all gasp and the host looks in shock. I'm an idiot and even I knew that. Any kid who's ever made a web page (which is most of them) knows that code.

FOX is fair and balanced. Some of the news presenters are fair-skinned, and some are balanced on chairs. Occasionally, they some both at the same time.

Which means that someone threatened to squeal. Parent, tech, someone who wasn't in the loop found out, and brought it to the attention of the producers. Rather than pay out or take the publicity hit, they decided to fess up faster than the squealer could get it out.

"Integrity issues" usually means "cheating" rather than "generalized disgust at the exploitation of children." The NY Times did a short piece on the show a few days ago that mentioned that they taped the kids giving incorrect answers to certain questions, ostensibly to "condition" the kid to not look devestated on tv when he lost half a million bucks (or, more likely, to provide juicy material for advertisements). If you're going to start screwing around with the game like that, it's only a short step to genuinely fudging the actual results.

Uzzah: "Integrity issues" usually means "cheating" rather than "generalized disgust at the exploitation of children."

I was hoping for something along these lines:

CHILD: I am a genius. And you, common adult, are inferior to my vast knowledge.

ADULT: I'll be sure to remember that in a few years when you're caught dryfarking your friend's RealDoll while I'm at home with my wife and children.

CHILD: *starts crying*

That would make this all worthwhile.

You know, I honestly think there are people out there who assume getting a PhD is essentially sitting in a classroom learning factoid after factoid about general information.

Amen. What would impress me would be if they made the kids give a well reasoned critique on a book, movie, piece of music, or architecture. Then I would think they are smart. Until then, they are just mimicking accurately.

"Our next challenge is to construct a critique of a book, dissecting it with an eye towards post-modern applications of cynicism and irony, and linking it to the monocultural, oppressive, and patriarchal systems of thought that reigned supreme in the discourse of the time of its writing; extra points awarded for Derrida inclusions."

"The first book in this challenge: A.A. Milne's Winnie the Pooh."

I doubt that the questions are general knowledge factoids. They're more likely esoteric nuggets geared toward the field of expertise of the "genius." "Our Little Genius" is a much nicer title than "Our Presentable Autistic" though.
