I kind of hope it happens like in the bible. That would be cool to witness...because I'll be here for all of it.

I for one welcome our terrible movie overlords.

This. As long as their the old fashioned SLOW zombies. I don't like fast zombies :-(

That's what amuses me about zombie movies. Everybody says that. All of humanity has been zombified except for a ragtag band of survivors, but if you ask zombie-movie fans if they'd like to see a zombie apocalypse, they all think it would be pretty cool. Like THEY would be part of the ragtag band of survivors and not the 6 billion casualties. I'm sorry dudes, but there's fantasy, and there's delusion. You're zombie chow.

What I'm looking forward to is 3 years of 24/7 hype about the end of the Earth in 2012 based on the fact that some Mayan calender has an ending. It will be like Y2K all over again... but at least it will help lower the volume on the next farking election.

I'm no hardcore zombie fan, but I've seen enough to know that I'd rather the world or humanity die in a quick fashion with the least pain possible, if it had to happen. Mostly because I'm a fatty, and fatty's die first in the zombie take-over.

This is how I see it as well. When the outbreak occurs I am prepared to file my teeth to points and sharpen my nails to spikes. I'll do some other modifications such as wrap barbed wire around my torso, maybe tie a few knives to stick out from me. Then go out and be bit. Once I turn I figure I'll be a little hell for the survivors...

So what scenario would you like to see happen? At least there is the possibility of shooting some of the jerks in your life with impunity in the Zombie scenario.

Rapture? Can I have your car? Cool, I'll just scrape the fish off the back and hop in.
Honestly though, Planetary Destruction rather than Alien Abduction any day. P/D is just one big bump and it's over. This freakin' A/A is driving me nuts. It's worse than the National Guard gig. One week end a month and two weeks a year I'm gone to planet Smegmalon. I don't feel right for days after I get back I'm so freaking jet lagged. And the FOOD! UGH!
Nope, I'm big for planetary destruction. Put me in that column please. Besides who wants to hang with all the religious fanatics from the Mid-East or Fly Over States? Each one's trying to get you on their team playing Shuffleboard or Bingo or Backgammon saying it's not really gambling and whining on and on about the Other Guys Team cheating. Nope, Planetary Destruction for me please. At least it'll be nice and quiet afterwards. You know, the InterGalactic Dial-Tone thing.

True, as 8% of Jersey voters already think Obama is the antichrist, you are probably correct.

I watched collapse during the festive T-giving holidays, I am gonna go with that one, the most realistic. Seen the others -

9 is based on a premise that we are smarter than we are; we aren't.
2012 and Zombieland have Woody, he was a better Larry Flynt.
The Road, too much like the Return of the King with cannibals.

incrdbil 2009-12-01 03:05:30 PM
Zombie moves always bore me, since realistically they would be fairly containable.

Once the initial atatcks had occurred, the symptoms, methods of transfer and stuff woudl be established, and organized erradication would quickly wipe them out--and effective quarantine would soon have starved zombies become useless.

Zombies have a lot of logic flaws. They eat flesh..but not each other for some reason. Some eat brains..but if they eat brains..and shooting them in the head kills them, it seems they wouldn't really turn out so many conversions as a brain eaten corpse remains just that. If a swarm of zombies hits a place, whoever is caught would be eaten tot hr epoint of being a useless zombie.
Zombies need food, and lacking the food, would starve about the same rate we do, and soon grow too weak to be a threat. So if they didn manage to wipe out a town, their slow pace means they starve to death fairly soon.

Zombies are easy to lure into kill zones too.

Vampirism is a far more insidious threat.

cherryl taggart 2009-12-01 03:20:19 PM
If the sun were to explode or shut down or whatever, we would have about 10 minutes warning, IIRC. Just enough time for all the cell phones in the world to get jammed with people calling each other. By the time the networks got their graphics ready, we'll all be toast.

It appears that the modern vampire is gayer than a parade and more metrosexual than ryan seacrest, I wouldn't worry about them.

You gotta train. I put in hours of training each day for this exact scenario.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_8hJsgZSNA
In addition, not everyone gets wiped out.Only the people that refuse to see the horror on the horizon.

So...I'm a little confused. I thought the release date for The Road was Nov. 25th, yet I can't find the movie playing in ANY theaters in the Raleigh, NC area (not even in artsy Chapel Hill.) What gives?
