I hate lonely people. And yes, I've been a very lonely person at some points in my life. Lonely people just make you feel awkward so then you over think and say the wrong things and lonely person gets upset and leaves. Which you're satisfied that they do, they're such downers anyway.

"The whole life of those societies in which modern conditions of production prevail presents itself as an immense accumulation of spectacles. All that once was directly lived has become mere representation."

Essentially, if you'd like to grasp the concept in the article seriously, I would look at Guy Debord's "The Society of the Spectacle", Theodor Adorno's "The Culture Industry", and Jacques Ellul's "The Technological Society" and "The Technological Bluff".

With mass culture comes the possibility of mass alienation. It's not as weird as it seems.

Sometimes I intentionally inflict my pain on others just because they're annoying me, it's fun. I can be a real little storm cloud if I get in the mood. Honestly, pretty much all moods are contagious. At a happy party? People get happy. Go to a UFC fight? People are aggressive. A bad person walks into a bar? People get nervous. I have a belief that we "radiate" our emotions and feelings, and people around us can pick up on it. Most do so subconsciously, but many can just "see" the emanations. Its hard to mask this, and the more you know someone the better you are at picking up their vibe. Thus, you SO or other very close loved ones can tell when something is wrong, even if you pretend otherwise.
