Hey, that's enough to buy a senate seat

Actually, when you factor in the Kenyan and socialist exchange rates, you could buy many Senate seats.

/Flame definitely on

probably has something to due with more stringent rules for verification of identity on issuing a refund... but don't let that get in the way of your hating.

probably has more to do with illegal immigrants who pay under a fake SSN, generally pay more in taxes than they actually owe, and would qualify for things like the EITC.

Senate seats are $150 - 200 million easy. Even big city mayors cost more than that. Bloomberg paid $150mil for his seat just now.

Just in case you're wondering what's happening to this country.

pretty simple. send our military down to grand cayman and you will find $1 trillion in assets hidden there by "good honest Americans"

our country lets the wealthy hide money. it's pretty simple to find out who they are. the gov't is making a " for show purposes only" attempt currently.

The IRS owes those folks money, on average more than $1,000 apiece.

Sue Hales is spokeswoman for the IRS in Illinois. She says the postal service has returned almost 3,600 refund checks to the agency as undeliverable.

Those undelivered checks are worth more than $3.6 million.

Thanks for showing your work, AP.

Well spotted. The article is about the federal IRS, and cites a 'spokeswoman for the IRS in Illinois', not the Illinois Department of Revenue**.

**This clarification is in no way meant to diminish our love of the free market system of government, nor downplay the Illinois Department of Revenue's inability to find its own ass while locked in a small closet.
