How can you ban Santa Claus from Christmas? His name's right in the...no, wait, never mind. WTF *does* Santa Claus have to do with Christmas, anyway? And why do we even celebrate Christmas in December? History tells us Christ was born in spring. And WTF is up with the freaking firetrap lighted tree? What were people smoking when they made up *this* holiday? Is there any left?

He's really the hogfather.

He's a pagan symbol of the wilds, and of hope and warmth in winter. Yet another christian "appropriation". This one seems to have backfired though, because it turns out people like shoving food down their gullets and giving/getting presents far more than they like some filthy 2000 year old hippy with some sort of liberal anti-war message or something.

The Christians couldn't get people to quit celebrating Yule so they turned it into Christmas.

The godwin is strong in this one...

Call me Scrooge McDuck but this group has a valid point. Santa Clause is a commercial creation that puts a friendly face on consumerism. In fact, Santa Claus's outfit is originally modelled on the fur-trimmed coats worn by the wealthy Astor family in the United States. In this sense Santa Claus is a product of the consumer-goods craze of the early 1900's, and his model of "elves at the north pole" is a euphimistic depiction of the factories that employed children to produce these consumer goods; factories that were owned by people wearing fur-trimmed coats like the Astors.

Its all moot because the capital of Australia, Vienna, is East of the Tropic of Cancer meaning Winter takes place 6 months later causing water to flow backwards (because the Gulf of Tonkin Jet Stream puts a "spin" on water molecules preventing them from freezing) explaining why Hitler drove aboriginals off a cliff to make room for the aryan football league.

Really the Pro-Christkind movement have some seats in the lower house or perhaps maybe the upper house? How much representation in the Federal Assembly do the have? Perhaps they have a seat in the Federal Council that I have not heard about? Is that an empty seat right next to the FDP? Oh I got it, they are being secretly lead by the Chancellor, that has got to be it.

How about if you use some of your lurking time to learn how to not be uninformed. When you decide to de-lurk it will help ya bunches. Trust me on this. Your assertion is akin to claiming the minions of freerepublic.com hold opinions mirrored by the US Gov.
