FTFA: "I walked into a door," adding: "No, I mean I got hit by an owl."

I don't know whether it's better to imagine him saying this in his normal accent or his House voice.

The show will now run until at least 2012.

They are going to run out of ideas long before that.

They should do an all-lupus season.

Given this season, I'd say they already have.

I've fallen behind, but I think I've seen the first 5 episodes, maybe 4. I'll get caught up once I'm done with school in a week.

Kome: Given this season, I'd say they already have.

The show's always been weak on drama and character development outside of House-Wilson-Cuddy, and the medical formula is predictable as all hell. But it's still such a blast to watch Hugh Laurie abuse people.

And where's Stephen Fry's US vehicle, dammit.

HOT CHICK 1

[med tech red herring A]

HOT CHICK 2

[med tech red herring B]

NON-THREATENING WHITE GUY

[med tech red herring C]
He had boxing gloves
in his car when they
brought him in.

HOT CHICK 1

Maybe he had a premonition
he was going to meet House.
We should test for
[med tech red herring A].
His [organ or body part]
is [doing something scary].

SUPER-COMPETENT MINORITY

[med tech red herring
C or B] make no sense.

HOUSE

Thank you for narrowing down your
indecision to two choices.
Boxing gloves? Why can't he have
an affair like most middle-aged men.
We can treat syphillis.
Give him a Maxim magazine,
two sponge baths a day
and release him on Tuesday. Go.
And make sure it's a female nurse.
That matters to some of us.
[Looks at Hot Chick 1] Go.
[They're going.]
Float like butterflies.
Sting like bees. Do the rope-a.
[They turn.]
Were there marks on his hands,
as if the gloves were too tight?
Were the gloves new? Go find them.
And find his sparring partner. Go.
I've run out of witty references.

NON-THREATENING WHITE GUY

Never stopped you before.

SUPER COMPETENT MINORITY

How about the sponge baths?

HOUSE

I'll get Cuddy to do it.
She already has two infants at home.

I don't see how a black eye would stop him from filming since it'd just tie in nicely with last episode when Chase decked him.

No, let's put Walter from Fringe on the show with him & let House & Walter banter. What fun that would be!

Saw a recent interview with Fry. He turned down an offer to be a regular on Bones. I guess he is too busy being the world's newest Renaissance Man.

No reason it has to stop him from filming. If they can't cover it with make-up, just have House show up with an inexplicable black eye, and have him give the same silly door/owl excuse Laurie gave the press. For those of us who know the background it's a clever inside joke, for those who don't it's just House being his weird self.

The angry fist of God 2009-11-29 10:27:25 AM
Not to start a real discussion here, but did you read where the part where he makes around $215,000 per episode?

Now, I seem to remember a time when stars on hit show had $215,000 fall out of their pocket when they were reaching in for REAL money...

The cast of Friends made a million per episode at the end of their run.

If that isn't a telling statistic about the general decline of network TV, I don't know what is. Not that I am saying it should be like the old days, those kinds of payouts were bordering on obscene.

If I was paying Jennifer Anniston and Courtney Cox a million per episode, it would be on a very different type of show.

You know, short films, for a more mature audience...

/ $1 to Jane Lynch

Yeah, I don't get it. And I watch, like, every House marathon on USA.

That was my entire point, you idiot.

I referring to the article (Did you even read it?) where it says that the show/him might lose a lot of money if it doesn't heal quickly.

And I gave two quick and easy solutions to how it might be accomplished. One being makeup and the other being an off-camera beating. Or hell, heavy makeup to cover it up, then a beating, then remove the makeup!

to all those trying to sound smart by citing Chase punching House: you are aware that if they filmed a new episode this week, it would probably air a few months down the line, right?

That, and Chase didn't give House a black eye in the episode.

I can't decide if Hugh Laurie is hot, or "slightly skeevy old guy." Some episodes he's attractive, like this season's opener when he's in the mental hospital, and some he just looks like an average 50ish guy who life beat the shiat out of.

Well, as a guy I think he's someone to admire and be jealous of, if that helps.

And I will say, without a doubt in my mind, that Lisa Edelstein is the hottest woman on that show, and perhaps the hottest woman on primetime television.

Haha, I'd forgotten about that one. When the elevator door opened and House "emerged" with the tick in his hand: "Told you it'd be dramatic". Awesome episode.

With the addition of "/wait, it is" in the original post, AnotherDisillusionedCollegeStudent was clearly being sarcastic. So, "think before you sound like a jackass" is a better warning for yourself in this instance.

I can agree with that, she looks like a real person. She's slightly older, but in good shape for her age, and not a plastic blonde trying to look 20.

Mmm, true, but they could just have someone punch him again. A newspaper speculating that production on a major TV show is going to be derailed because of a freaking black eye is pretty stupid.

Man, I love House and everybody on it, but ever since someone posted on a thread, "Why does she always wear her clothes 2 sizes too small?" that's all I've been able to see.

And I'm not a guy either, so I don't notice it for THAT reason.

Wait, House isn't a documentary?

So, they really didn't start doing an autopsy on that one guy only for him to wake up screaming?

I think I shall write my congressman. They're putting lies and falsehoods on television now!

Just once, though, if they'd do an episode where somebody doesn't come in requesting 2 aspirin only to have their foot explode due to a childhood skating accident that caused a dormant bone chip to metastasize a false white blood count that fooled everyone.

Of course, removing the bone chip causes that overlooked bout with chicken pox to send the patient into cardiac arrest.

At that point, a dark family secret is revealed, and a transfusion from an albino midget cousin from the circus cures all, even the initial headache that provoked the 2 aspirin request.

And yet nobody ever complains from accounting, and the health insurance coverage flows like wine.

Don't invite Jessica Fletcher to your social gatherings, and don't ask Dr. House for medical advice.
