They used to show the great football game arc on Superbowl Sunday, but for some unknown reason, stopped. Wassamatta U. was playing against Boris Badenov's Plug-Uglies, using plans for the Battle of Gettysburg. An all-time classic.

Totally 100% bar-none my absolute favorite cartoon of all time. So, so brilliant.

It was our battle cry during our clubbing days. Someone would forget an ID (how do you even DO that?) or get busted for public drunkenness or whatever, and we'd all say...

Hey Rocky! Watch me pull this situation out of my ass!
(Awww that trick never works)
...nuthin' up mah sleeve...

...and at this point disaster would usually turn into catastrophe.

And now, here's something we hope you'll REALLY like!

Cat merited a profile shoutout and I don't hand those things out like diplomas to Wattsamatta U.

I remember there used to be a Rocky and Bullwinkle restaurant here in Edmonton that had an arcade with some trippy lightshow, and people walking around in the character costumes. I went to a lot of birthday parties there and never wanted to leave.

Best. Place. Ever.

... Until it closed down. That was a bummer.

June Foray (voice of Rocky) is a class act. Here I am with her at an event at Nickelodeon on her 91st birthday.

Infamous Dr. X: Totally 100% bar-none my absolute favorite cartoon of all time. So, so brilliant.

And yet, with such a brilliant base to work from, they managed to fark over the live-action movie so badly. My only disappointment ever with Rocky & Bullwinkle

One of the greatest cartoons ever made, and still entertaining and clever today.

So where the fark is the complete series on DVD or Blu-ray, hopefully packed in a life-size moose head or cartoon bomb or something like that? The first three seasons have been released, but... where the crap are the other two?

What movie are you talking about? They never made such a thing.

I used to love doing a Bullwinkle impersonation saying "Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my ass." Sadly, as time has gone on, fewer people recognize Bullwinkle.

And those who do think of that bastard Dave Coulier.

My fave was the tipsy fairy who kept getting caught in the storybook at the beginning of "Fractured Fairy-Tales." I loved the tales themselves, tho as a child I was never quite sure what was so funny about the revised endings.

Still laughed.

Theres a great website www.tvpmm.com that has all kinds of great TV themes and such. but if you go to the listen section of the site and click 'jay ward' on the left hand column, not only do you get all his great cartoon music, but there is also a recording of a "Rocky & Bullwinkle" voice recording session.

/You're Welcome.

Threw Des back to the minors. Honestly, how did such a gifted man blow it on such an easy target.

My wife was online and told me about the 50th anniversary, and I was actually disappointed that I had not heard or seen any tributes to them. I trusted that Fark would rectify that, and I was correct.

I remember that place! I loved that show so much. It's probably one of the earliest experiences I had that got me interested in politics without me even knowing it. I remember my sisters mocking me for watching cartoons while they preferred Full House and Family Matters. I bet neither could tell me what The Cold War was if I asked them today.

My favorite episode was the one where it the world's economy turned out to be based upon cereal boxtops. Fifty years on it just about is!

Even today, Rocky and Bullwinkle still stands up as one of the smartest and (arguably) funniest cartoons, if not TV shows, that have ever aired.

Bloody William: One of the greatest cartoons ever made, and still entertaining and clever today.

ertznay: When the Fark is season 4 coming out on DVD!!

At this point, I'm beginning to think never. Season 3 came out in 2005, and the fact that it's been more than four years since the last release doesn't seem promising.

It's a shame that the rest haven't come out - I can't think of any stations that still air the show.
