The 57 year old, who has a long history of alcoholism, had allegedly been drinking in the past two days and saw one of his personal doctors on Wednesday (25Nov09) after returning from a trip to Canada.

He can't handle our beer. Some alcoholic...

Just let him die. Maybe he and Amy Winehouse can hook up for a new reality show, Leaving This Mortal Coil, as we watch them drink and drug themselves to death.

/At least then maybe he'd leave his kids something.

I think you've got something there.

The Wasted Celebrity House reality show.
You could cram so many of them in there...Ozzy Ozbourne, Andy Dick, Robert Downy Jr....I'd so watch a show like that.

Hasselhoff was admitted to rehab in October (09) amid reports he accidentally hit a doctor during a booze binge. He has also been hospitalised on two separate occasions this year (09), reportedly suffering from alcohol poisoning.

He's doing it wrong.

This sort of stopped being funny after the second or third alcohol poisoning this year. Now the seizure...Man now I just feel sad for the guy. And I hope he can find some kind of way out of the hole he's in. Because its a shiat place to be. Really...I am not a fan of the guy but still. It's just tragic.

Yeah I know this is FARK and feelings and sentiment are most absurd here (especially for a celebrity) but...

I'm shocked he doesn't look shiattier. It seems like all that drinking would take a toll on your looks. God knows I've aged a little harder than I should've.

I wish I had a video camera, I know a guy who looks like the Hoff. I'd get a Trans Am and a leather Member's Only jacket and write a sketch about Michael Knight trying to drive KIT drunk. Maybe stashing booze in the glove box.

Thankfully I've never been close to an alcoholic. What a horrible condition. I can't imagine what it must be like to be close to someone like this who obviously needs help but won't get it or is unable to control himself.

I'll take weed any day of the week. Falling asleep with a bag of Doritos sure beats killing yourself slowly while regularly puking up your nodule-encrusted liver and going into drooling seizures.

I think I need a reason for him to drink. Was it the cancellation of Baywatch Nights? The fact that he had to suck his gut in so much that he can't stop? Come on, there has to be a reason why he's so farking drunk all of the time. And being old now has to be a reason.

There's only one reason an alcoholic drinks: they need to get drunk.

Seriously, do it long enough and the serotonin levels in the brain drop to such low levels that the person literally feels like they are sick unless they start drinking. Once they start drinking, the levels spike higher and higher, creating a reward scenario for each drink regardless of whether or not the person is already drunk from the previous drink. The only thing that stops the reward is either exhaustion or sleep.

If you are a dude, it's similar to "manually stimulating" yourself. Once you start, you're pretty much committed to the end.

Nicotine does the same thing, which is why Chantix is such a wonder drug, and also why you start taking it weeks before you quit smoking. It blocks serotonin receptors from providing the "reward" whenever you have a smoke. By the time you are ready to quit, the cigarette no longer has the power to provide you the rush when you smoke. Most people who stick with the program quit unintentionally before their "quit date" simply because their brain isn't demanding that they have a cigarette anymore.

The reason he is drinking is because his brain is conditioned to it.

What he said. There's a point where it's a chemical thing. If you stop drinking, some serious shiat starts to go down. Seizures, heart attack, stroke. We all joke about drinking but it's a direct poison to pretty much every system in your body.

Now excuse me while I have my morning martini.

for all you non-drunks out there: alcoholics don't need a reason to drink. Bad day--need a drink. Good day--let's celebrate! And there's not usually something that sends a person over the edge later in life; drunks are (generally) due to be drunks from the day they pick up their first drink. Some of them take longer, some need rehab when they're 20. But the problem usually starts early even if it takes years to be noticed by other people.

Hasselhoff must have kept his shiat together long enough to have a career, but I'd bet that he's been a heavy drinker or drug user for a long time.

I checked into the ER last month with severe pain in my chest., Right about where the liver is. I told the doc I thought I broke my liver because I had been drinking so much. Turned out it was pneumonia.

It is a shiat place to be and I am still trying to work my way out of it but fortunately I have never gone into a seizure because of it yet...
