Nice. "Those brigands caused the sheep great stress by removing it from its flock. We're going to hold on to it for six more days."

""We have tracked down the sheep's owner but we can't return it to its flock for six days because of restrictions on the movement of livestock."

There's a 5-day waiting period for press releases and interviews..

Store manager Joe Lock said: "We were shocked to discover that a poor sheep had been wheeled into our store.

Is this the same Joe Lock whose store sells dozens of butchered sheep cadavers every day?

What a poor sheep, how inhumane of those brutes to dump it in the horror that is sarf-east London.

Seriously.... You think the sheep even gave a damn that all this happened? Sheep aren't exactly the most intelligent animals. I bet it didn't even know/care what was going on. I can't believe that anyone would equate this to causing the animal suffering.

/give the kids a stern talking to, ground them for a week, and move on.

From what we're told here in the colonies, London is completely awash in security cameras. I'd bet many of the locals cover their heads even when they're not breaking the law pulling silly pranks.

Well these kind of restrictions are probably in place to prevent the spread of diseases. If you take a sheep to a fair you might not want to take it right back home and put it with the rest but instead quarantine it for a few days just so you can be sure it hasn't caught some kind of sheep illness. Its unlikely the sheep met up with any other sheep in the supermarket though so they're being a bit silly...

Honest Bender: FTFA: "It is against the law to cause an animal unnecessary suffering."

So, putting sheep in a shopping cart/trolley causes "unnecessary suffering",

yet its OK for parents to put their crotchfruit in them (in the special compartment all carts/trolleys have for kids)?

So, the sheep was taken from its fold and wheeled into the supermarket, where it caught foot-and-mouth, and therefor can't just be returned to where it came from?

Did it catch anthrax from some frozen lamb chops or something?

I mean, it didn't mix with any other livestock, just the chavs who ... ok, never mind, I see now.
