"Celebrity" may seem to be a dirty word when viewed from the damp cave beneath your parent's house, but it isn't.

tiger woods' wife is not an animal!

The answer depends on three variables:

1) How annoying the celebrity is
2) How annoying the animal is
3) The location of the attack

I know what you're thinking: "Why does the location matter?" It matters if the celebrity is in the natural environment of the animal, or vice-versa. If any celebrity (or person, for that matter) is attacked by an alligator in Florida, then I always root for the alligator, since I want the alligators to over-run the state and drive all humans out. The state was designed to be an animal refuge, not a place for humans to live. The FLORIDA tag supports my theory in this matter. But if an alligator attacked a celebrity at Spago in Beverly Hills, then I would be rooting for the celebrity.

4. Is the animal being made to perform some retarded stunt for a film/performance

Do not care about animals attacking. I am more concerned that ABC 'news' is using TheFrisky.com for its 'news' source.

That article may have been written by a high school freshman.

/o, and animals of course!

I know I didn't shed a tear when that tiger ate that magician queen. But if a Bantha got loose on the set of Attack of the Clones and killed Natalie Portman I'd be sad.

How can you not root for the animals? Celebrities aren't that different from scratching posts anyway.

Sideways threadjack ... I always wondered what Marlin Perkins had on Jim Fowler to get him to go into the situations he did.
" and now Jim will grab the aggravated panther balls with freezing cold tongs. Let's see what happens".

You forgot:
4) How attractive the celebrity is.

Level of annoyance overrides it somewhat, but if the person is not annoying (but not clearly awesome), attractiveness can be a deciding factor.

Your logic seems backwards to me. I am more sympathetic when a person is minding their own business and is attacked. For example, a surfer mauled by a shark sucks. A bull-fighter mauled by a bull is justice.

WHAAAAA????

If an alligator got loose in Spago, I'd be rooting for that gator to take out everyone it could get its chompers on, the celebrity, the waitstaff, and the pretentious maitre d' who looks at you funny if you walk in wearing jeans that cost less than $5000 a pair.

I ALWAYS root for the animal. Unless it's a pit bull mauling some helpless child.

If it was Paris Hilton, anywhere, any time, any situation, root for the animals.

"Celebrity" may seem to be a magical word when you peep through their windows while you're hiding in a tree beside their home, but it isn't. You're just a sad, sick, lonely little person who never should have been allowed to leave the damp cave beneath your parents' house.

/you were put down there for a reason, dammit!
