Boobies.

This is the president of CONCACAF, a region that is due the 2018 WC in the FIFA-cycle, and he's endorsing England?

What the hell?

"I was very impressed by his humility, his sincerity, his knowledge of the game, and most importantly he didn't feel England had any divine right.

That is because Gordon Brown is Scottish. He knows that England's rightful claim to share a border with the country that invented the sport does not confer on them any particular rights to it.

Correction:

England makes case that 2018 football World Cup should be held in England, pointing out that it may be the only time in their lives that Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish football fans get to see what a trophy looks like.

Britain?? UK???

I think you will find England are the ones bidding for the tournament.

I say bring it back to the US since it's the only country in CONCCAF with any infrastructure or stadiums to speak of.

Give it to England in 2022, maybe Portsmouth will finally have its stadium by then (poor Pompey).

And as a bonus, the stadiums will still be full of people cheering for teams other than the United States.

Mexico has already hosted the World Cup twice. I am sure they could manage a third.

how is that any different than now?

I keeeeeeed, I keeeeeeed. Well maybe just a little, seriously tho when on American soil people are willing to show up for games every 4 years or so, explaining that this not the same as the olypmics will take some time, but overall I think support would be infinitely higher than if it was played out of country.

Plus based on that numbers of American fans attending we could suffer through another "Soccer has officially arrived and will take off in the US." Only to see the league fold because they adjust their spending proportionally to bring in washed up foriegn "stars".

/Really David whosits was here? Did his wife still look like skeletor?
//did she at least make with a few chicks in the stands?

Yo douche I think you mean England. Think of the UK as 4 states each with it's own association football team. Only England is bidding for the world cup. England invented the game; it's time to bring it home again.
