Organizer Maria Mastalerz says the weeklong "performance" aims to attract interest in a play, "Caveman," showing in the Polish capital. But she says it also carries a message that humans today are not all that different from their prehistoric ancestors.

I hope these zoo exhibit people don't think they are doing anything new. People have been doing the "humans in a zoo" thing for ages.

It's interesting that 'cavemen' are always shown with chunks of animal skin haphazardly wrapped around them, dirty faces and unkempt hair. If 'caveman' means prehistoric European in this case, especially Ice Age, we've found bone needles and awls, and can infer that they had the same sophisticated clothes-making technology as, say, the Inuit. It may have been what allowed them to survive in that climate. As to the dirt and unkempt hair- hunter-gatherer peoples in the world today aren't dirty hippies, and there's no reason to believe that ancient people didn't groom themselves.

Not as funny as when they put a screen door on a submarine or launched a rocket to the sun at night, but still funny
