Police originally thought the house contained a meth lab because a "noxious odor," but later found a marijuana growing operation.

Sounds like they accidentally the meth lab.

That must be some really nasty ditchweed he was growing. Better for everyone that they busted him then.

Marijuana should be legal, but I have no problem locking these clowns up. This level of stupid shouldn't be allowed to run free on our streets. Book em' Dano!

At some point, the pot growers will realize that calling the cops on a pot field is a really bad idea. Until then, cops will forever have an unlimited supply of pot, we something to report in the dumbass section of news.

You have to admit, that guy looks dumb enough to warrant being locked up. For his own safety if for no other reason. He looks like the kind of person who could injure himself with a damp sponge.

Actually it was the neighbors who called the cops when they saw the robbers show up in hazmat suits and a girl with her hands tied up running out of the house. Better story here.

See what happens when you dont read stories... i just assumed that dumbass would have called the cops, like all others seem to try to do when there stash gets stolen...

This is another reason for legalization. Pot farmers have no legal recourse when they are wronged. They must resort to protecting themselves, and this often can become very violent and a worse situation than might have otherwise been resolved with police.

Chuck Ruffcorn 2009-11-28 12:20:25 AM
Chuck had some friends recently get their grow-op busted... With each agency trying to get the bust first the cops farked up the case so bad the state had to drop charges and now the feds aren't going to have a case because they can't use any of the evidence...

Long story short; Chuck wouldn't be surprised if it was the cops who broke in just so they could have cause to come to this guys house.... it's pretty much what they did to Chuck's friends.

To be fair, there's no chance to steal the cash AFTER you bust the growers...

When I was a young shaver, working at a car wash, a couple of girls came in. They were typical Somerville boohogs (if'n you're familiar w/the Boston area, you'll know what I mean).

We vacuumed the car and sent it through. About ten minutes later, the two stormed back up the hall and demanded that we give them back what we stole.

We looked at each other with confused expressions and asked what they were talking about. One of them screamed that we'd stolen an ounce of grass from under her seat and that if we didn't give it back right away, they were going to call their boyfriends and we'd end up with, and I quote, "frkkinbwokenheads." Then they ran down to the exit end to confront the kids wiping the cars and cleaning the windows.

The mgr, a crusty old fark with a hook for a right hand, said he'd be happy to call the cops if they wanted to press charges. They agreed.

The police showed up. While one was taking a statement, the other started poking around through the car. A minute later, he walked over with an oz. of grass and asked if it was what the girls thought was stolen.

The driver said it was and stuck her hand out to get it. The moment the cop released it into her grasp, he arrested her and her friend for possession w/intent to distribute. Then he called for a tow truck to impound the car. As the other cop escorted them to the back of the cruiser (in cuffs), he was laughing and congratulated them on being the dumbest people he'd ever arrested.

They call it dope for a reason...

Summary is misleading, neighbors called the police when they witnessed a home invasion happening on the house and saw the occupants on the ground covered in blood.

wraith10 2009-11-28 03:05:14 AM
Not only that but they actually fled the hospital fearing the cops had found the grow op.

firefly212 [recently expired TotalFark] 2009-11-28 03:29:27 AM
The best part is that now that the cops have found the eeeevil potheads, they aren't even going to put forth an iota of effort into finding people who are willing to violently rob other peoples homes. You're safe from the hippies, but when it comes to dealing with real criminals, you're on your own.

VelmaCruise 2009-11-28 04:19:43 AM
Why do you think they call it "dope?"

LavenderWolf 2009-11-28 04:25:50 AM
It's still theft if you steal something illegal. The police should have found the assailant.

/growing weed shouldn't be illegal

Try reading the article.

"A witness told WCCO two men went to help and saw that the victims, a young man and woman, were covered in blood and what seemed like pepper spray or mace. As a neighbor comforted the victims the two men chased the attackers, who began removing their protective suits and dropping cash. Police arrested the assailants with the help of the men."

I realize that this story involves different people than the last 20 nearly-identical stories, but I think I've had my fill of dopey pot grower stories for awhile.

Unless cats are involved.
