I recently heard on the radio that according to the National Enquirer (stopped reading right there....) some sort of affair was being revealed. I wonder if this was troubling him.

A blood alcohol test, which probably would have been done right away when he was brought in given the circumstances, would probably indicate "charges will be laid" before you even begin the rest of your investigation.
