He looked inside and SAW the person that lies within. He found out that SHE was a HE biologically but that does not change the person SHE really is in all else. (and I say SHE becuase this is how she identifies and how SHE sees herself and how she wishes the world to accept her as..so I do as well.) He really does love 'her' and THAT is the point. It is great that his friends and family accept her for who she is and that they can show, not everyone are close-minded prudes or intolerant arseholes. Sometimes its nice to see things like this.
