That's probably true. I can't stand to watch the news any more. I was watching CNN yesterday in a futile attempt to find something in english (I just moved to Germany) and they were quoting COMMENTS FROM FACEBOOK FRIENDS as if it were actual, real, news events. We are really getting terribly stupider as a nation if we are getting our news from facebook.

Culturally billboards are used to convey a single message, not to have a preset graphic on one half and an unrelated item on the other. It's also quite common for stories about rape to show mugshots of the accused. Imagine you don't know it's a rolling news electronic billboard.
