I'll bet they're fat white people. And at some locations, fat black people.

And by 'Extra safety precautions' they mean 'lawsuit insurance' and 'no reporters or photography'.

They don't care if someone gets trampled so long as they can settle the whole thing quietly and cheaply.

I thought about hitting up Walmart for some of the $10 Blu Ray movies, then found them on Amazon for the same price (and no sales tax), along with a bunch of other black friday bargains.

This is why I avoid WalMart unless absolutely necessary.

Not because of the typical disapproval of their business practices, but because most of the people who shop there are about the lowest common denominator of human being that exists.

And if you're willing to trample over someone to get a deal at farkING WALMART then you are not a human being I want to be in the same building as.

Actually, a lot of Wal-Mart's "Black Friday sale" stuff can be done online Friday.

I looked through the ad, didn't see any remarkable prices on anything I actually needed.

no matter how much "crowd management" there is always going to a group of fat ignorant trash breaking down the doors to save 5 dollars. It's not like there is a shortage of fat disgusting consumers at walmart, if you think your life is worth a 10 dollar blu-ray movie, than maybe you don't really deserve to be alive in the first place :)

It's funny and sad to watch people lose their minds around the holidays.

Wal-Mart's pharmacy is great. The rest of the store is meh. But hey, you can get your guns, beer and first-aid supplies all in one place, so they've got that going for them.

I think their big gimmick this year, aside from the typical super-cheap TV, is WE WILL MATCH ANY AD FROM ANYONE, NO MATTER WHAT. Which is going to be my fallback for Dragon Age if Best Buy sells out.

Heh, I would have to be working as a contractor on walmart grounds right now if I hadn't gotten sick as fark with no sleep the last 2 nights.

My shift was 3am to 12pm. That would have been unpleasant.

Also... at least from what they told me the contractors (extra security) are all strictly hands-off. So basically they can just tattle on you if you punch someone with what you wanted in the face.

Oh hell the last thing I want to plan for is anything requiring actual interaction with an employee. They're handling like 100x their normal load and asking them to do anything requiring though is kinda outta line. Hey, maybe I could convince them that my ad for that same plasma screen for $100 somewhere else that I just Photoshopped deserves a price match.

I haven't been in a Wal*Mart in seven years. My wife is going to one tomorrow for a laptop so she can save $200. We're not speaking.
I'll burn in Hell before I ever shop there.

Feel free to call me farked in the frontal lobes, but I admit, to drown my sorrows after the Giants loss, to going to the local Walmart this morning at 4AM. To be honest, they had it very well organized. They stayed open overnight, and there were no lines at all outside. They allowed folks to start lining up for the major items at 3AM. The "minor" items were out and available, but you could not check them out before 5AM if you wanted to get the sale price. They had lots of folks at the front showing what items were available and which ones were already sold out (based on how many people were already on a line).

I chuckled watching a few folks entering the store saying "OMG THEY MUST HAVE OPENED EARLY!" and start running around like headless chickens, but fortunately the store staff got them under control (the info about the procedure was all over the news yesterday, don't know how they missed it). Other than laptops, they seemed to have plenty of the big sale items. The "hot" items were spread out around the store, with separate lines for each. I wandered over to one of the HDTV lines around 5AM and the employee showed me they had over 200 sets and only 50 people on line. I picked up a few 5AM sale items, was online at 5:10, and, and was checked out and pulling out of the parking lot by 5:30, and home by 5:40.

I don't have any strong feelings about Walmart either way, but this store seemed to have it under control.

My wife and I are just the opposite. I go to WalMart all the time. I don't give a shiat about what ever it is that makes it so wrong or whatever. She refuses to go anywhere near them.

On the other hand, she loves Starbucks- I refuse to even walk in front of one, to me they are the Wal Mart of coffee shops, you can't go anywhere without tripping over a farking Starbucks. Everybody LOOOVES their farking Starbucks Michio Kaku Fluffer Nutter Kapa Kapa Koopa Troopa. fark you Starbucks!!!!

Fire bomb all Walmarts today and thin out the heard, improve the genetic pool and raise the quality of life for all.

It's a win/win situation.

A bit of napalm and all will be right in the world.
