The kids sound like tough little bandits.

Not sure I see the problem with this. Isn't that why most cars have trunks?

When I was a kid, the only thing we had to play in was an old refrigerator. Nothing as nice as a Trans Am

We used to play in the trunk all the time as kids... No big deal. Sometimes it would even fill with water.

I really don't see a problem with this. It was for just a couple minutes and it's not like it's the middle of summer or anything. How about prosecuting based on things that ACTUALLY happen? As in, did the kids come to ACTUAL harm? Or are we going to continue to prosecute on woulda shoulda couldas?

I dumped my girlfriend because she wouldn't let me play in the trunk.

I think this all depends on what year/color/style Trans Am...

The only time the car trunk should hold passengers is when sneaking them into a drive-in movie theater.

Totally. Sure, I may have shot at the dude, but I didn't ACTUALLY hit him.

No harm, no foul, I say.

I used to love playing in the trunk of our old LTD. Hell one time when it was hailing I was curled up in the trunk listening to the halestones thud off of the trunk.

I'm pretty sure they DID play in the one on blocks in the front yard...

What's the problem?

Did the kids start out in the trunk, or did they get in there by themselves? Cuz that would make a difference to me if I was a juror.

The add I got at the bottom of the article made me laugh, in a "frowns at your shenanigans" kind of way.

Maybe I just need some sleep.

Are you farking kidding me?! He left them in a trunk for "a few minutes" and they arrest him. How is putting a couple of kids in a trunk for a couple minutes going to cause them to come to harm? I bet they thought it was fun, keep them entertained for a couple of minutes.

I can see how people might get all pissy about how improper it is, but seriously, arrested for child endangerment?! I am not say9ing I would do this, but arresting him seams asinine. Please, isn't the burden of proof on the state to prove that kids being in a locked trunk for a few minutes is actually dangerous?! Just how would they come to harm being in a trunk for a few minutes. I bet statistically they would be exposed to more danger crossing the street and going into a sail shop with their dad.

Haven't Trans Am's all been hatchbacks since 1984 and the initial Knight Rider version?

Homeboy doesn't look like the type to have a classic one. If it is a classic one - I'll be the kids could climb out to the road from the lovely winters and salt from MA roads.

And if they did like playing in the trunk - how'd they learn that?

My dad used to insist the the dog needed the window down anytime we drove anywhere. That included on Snoqualmie pass in the middle of a snowstorm. I whined about being cold and getting snowed on (since he insisted it be my window in the backseat that was partially open) and I wanted the window up so he pulled over onto the side of the road and made me get in the trunk. I was scared and pissed but I was warmer there anyway.

I could totally see how kids would like playing in a trunk though.
