There are some mightily retarded people working at ABC. Dayum.

Larry Mahnken 2009-11-26 05:31:36 PM
However another ABC insider told the Post that it was not Lambert's sexuality which got him cancelled from "GMA," but rather, the fact that he, "showed himself to be unpredictable on live TV."

If only there was some technology that would allow them to delay the broadcast by a few seconds...

mack_mcc 2009-11-26 05:31:56 PM
So they cancel Lambert for being "unpredictable". Well in that case, wasn't Brown's assault "unpredictable"? Sheesh, what farking idiots.

SnakeMan [TotalFark] 2009-11-26 05:32:25 PM
A guy who's famous for being a gay singer vs. a guy who's famous for being a singer who savagely beat his girlfriend who's also a singer. Gee, who do you think will get more viewers?

Yeah, because Adam Lambert has hardly ever done any live TV.

Well the Chris Brown interview is pretaped so if he beats the crap out of Robin Roberts they can just edit that part out before airing it. Totally not an issue.

Lloyd Braun 2009-11-26 05:38:55 PM
What about male pop stars who beat off men?

sincitynewbie 2009-11-26 05:43:58 PM
what about the male pop stars that kiss men dressed as beaten women?

Actually, this is pretty stupid. Totally predictable given the current zeitgeist the MSM is trying to force on America, but stupid anyway.

I met Robin Roberts a month ago...judging by her size, there's no way he can take her.

I think it says many negative things that a known woman beater can still get the time of day on a major TV show.

Maybe Adam Lambert can get some cred from ABC and beat up women.

/starting with The View

Let's be honest here. It's not because Adam Lambert kissed a man, that's the kind of low level risque stuff you expect a gay entertainer to do. Adam Lambert pretty much simulated oral sex on live TV. Which has been done before by many female performers holding a mic but he did it in such a tasteless manner people are freaking out.

Chris Brown on the other hand well....R&B tarts have been getting their asses kicked by the men in their life for decades now and everyone still loves Ike and Bobby ...so lets get Chris a chance!

That's former MTV VJ Kennedy, who once caused a minor controversy with a suggestive pantomime involving a microphone on live TV.

He wasn't helping gay rights. He was being downright obnoxious instead.

He's already done enough calls for the Waaaaaahhhmbulance in the last few days, which is just bringing him down all the more instead of helping his cause.

If only there was some technology that would allow them to delay the broadcast by a few seconds...

But what if he says something gay, but the guy running the delay doesn't know it's gay, because he's not gay and only a gay would know that kind of gay and then the gay makes it through to precious snow flakes who subliminally take it in and later become gay?

I turned it off when he was dragging the girl around on the floor. Not offensive, just annoying. I wish Rihanna and Chris Borwn would disappear from all tv forever. She is milking the hell out of this issue and he is guilty of it.

THIS. So very much THIS. Because seeing two of a gender on scripted shows on broadcast TV kissing isn't risque anymore because its done so much its almost expected. And also, we all should've gotten the point that he's gay. More power to him, because his choices are not for us to judge. But, having said all that, doing the simulated BJ on live broadcast TV when kids could've been watching was way out of line.

Thing was, according to reports, the BJ move was in the script. The only unexpected bit was the kiss itself.

Let me say that again:

The BJ was choreographed and okayed by the AMA producers.

Therefore, the "unplanned" move on TV was actually less risque than the intended stuff, and thus, STFU ABC.

branlieb 2009-11-26 11:27:55 PM
Watch him on CBS' crappy morning show if you really want to. I saw enough on the AMAs.

Lambert knew the stage he had and he embraced it closing that show. Thankfully, his tasteless effort and reluctance to show any remorse for simulating a homosexual explicit sexual act on national television when more than a few kids were watching will keep him from ever having a spotlight like that again. Way to go Lambert, enjoy fading into obscurity.

Would you automatically add the qualifier "heterosexual", were that the case? No? Then congratulations, you're a bigot.

Just watched the video. Did not see any part that was risque by todays standards. The music sucked a fat one though. The video should be banned on that point alone.

rynthetyn 2009-11-27 01:28:06 AM
So, apparently everybody's outraged about Adam Lambert's performance because it violated "community standards". I guess ABC thinks that community standards say that violence against women is OK.

marksman 2009-11-27 01:31:32 AM
They should round them all up and nuke 'em all.

They all suck.

That being said, ok, I understand there are gay people out there in the world. But why do they have to shove in everybody's face? Do they not understand that there are people that don't agree with gay people and they are not going to change?

live your ife the way you want to and don't bother anybody else. Is that so farking hard to do???

Eh, it's just the double-standard fading. Abusive women have been "strong" and "standing up for themselves" for a decade or so now, apparently we're extending that excessive benefit of the doubt impartially now.

//Wouldn't watch a show with either of the options listed here, honestly. Or GMA, for that matter. So boring and trite...

heterosexuality is default,

homosexuality is the minority,

it's not bigoted to distinguish when something out of the default is the case when it is material to the matter at hand.

Here is something interesting as well

You label people who do not conform to your exact social conventions as bigot without knowing them deeply at all, therefor you, in fact, are a bigot.
