We once made a prank to our principal in our highschool.

We sneaked in, and placed a letter that went kinda like this:

Dear Prof. ****

My name is ***** ******
(Obviously not one of our names) and I've sent this letter from the future. I apologize in advance for the future buying of this school in the next thirty years, and turning it into a massive school-themed whorehouse, but I always wanted to have sex in one of these classrooms. Here is a check for 50'000 dollars, save this check and cash it in thirty years, I assure your it will cash in.

Your trule,

**** *****

To your suprise, the teacher was amused.

/This was in 1999

Or maybe they're just old and about to die. They would be in their 70s now.

Great, now they'll buy an HDTV that some kid will steal.

Maybe in 50 years, that kid will grow up and send them $10 million so they may be able to buy a super ultra porn TV sex machine.

True story: my college roommate stole a gold chain from me about 28 years ago. I always thought I just lost it. If I had it now, I wouldn't wear it (that was the 80s, mkay?).

This past summer he tracked me down and sent me an apology along with a check for $1,000. I haven't cashed the check and don't plan to--I really don't want the money. I called him and he is forgiven and a mystery is solved.

/it went towards a bad coke habit

no. you take him for what he has....1G is not enough. who gives a f*ck if he don't need it or you can afford it. eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth. fake gold for his soul. it is your responsibility to belittle him for his transgression. if we forgive now? what else is next???? its a slippery slope. realize this and you realize the potential of who we are.

Thultraholland: Born again

Not to cheapen it, but that's the nifty thing about Christianity. One can always ask for forgiveness. Seeing the born-again (and again and again...) battling their temptations by projecting their beliefs on others is little disturbing. Especially when catching them backsliding.

Whatever the reasons for seeking redemption in this case, it's still kinda cool.

Christianity, Twelve Steppers meh call it what you will. It was Irish Catholic Guilt.

"In my house breakfast was a bowl of cereal and a big glass of guilt"

First time I heard that I nearly blew my beer milk out my nose

moral of the story kids....do coke when you're in college. Years later, you'll have thousands of dollars to waste on silly regrets

I've heard of Catholics being born-again in to a protestant faith.

The person who sent the letter is surely in their mid-70s by now, and possibly considering their mortality.

And still too chicken to identify themselves.

Until recently, I worked for a college bookstore for about 10 years. Every so often, the minutes of the meeting would have an item about someone sending a check in and a note about books or other items that had stolen in the past, and some amount of restitution.

The guy that ran the place was such a tool, he would often add in the minutes that perhaps the company should try to get _all_ of the money they were due (increase to insurance, wages spent looking for the merchandise in the store, etc etc etc ... basically things you couldn't really define).

/he was a dick
//glad they laid me off
///going to college now, hooray for displaced worker funds :)

That $500 barely pays for a BOSE.

What was its 1955 value corrected for inflation?
The first Transistor radios are now collectables.

Someone I met during the 70's had stolen something from a school during the 60's which he gave to me during the 80's which I gave to my wife during the 90's who was a teacher at said school and returned the property to it.

Yea, it is a cool story.

/If I wanted to keep it I would've, but it was for the lulz.

Clarke spokesman Mike Cyze said the lounge where the theft took place was likely part of a building that burned down in 1984.

So in other words the radio would have been destroyed anyway and the thief actually did everyone a favor by saving it from the fire.
