I was looking forward to watching Russell suck today - and they pull him out finally last week. He was always good for some laughs...oh, well.

At least I have the lions...

Yeah, yeah. No one can bash the Lions like a Lions fan. Don't you forget that.

Lions have been a mainstay for thansgiving for years... but they've NEVER been good. ...and people wonder why I don't watch football at thanksgiving.

It doesn't have to be Colts v Patriots or anything, but don't give me the shiate of the nfl every year!

Gradkowski
Another QB not good enough for the Bucs

Just remember, there are three games now.

While the first usually is an exhibition of how badly someone can beat Detroit (though it does bear mentioning, they're still won more than half their games on Thanksgiving (35-32-2 - this is the 70th game). And that's even with the five straight losses (to a 10-1 Tennessee, 9-1 Green Bay, 4-6 Miami, 6-4 Atlanta, and 7-3 Indy - other than Miami, all decent teams.

Dallas plays cupcakes, and got in on it because Clint Murchison knew he'd get a national audience, just like how he knew he'd get Eastern attention by being in the NFL East.

The third team thing amongst other teams is basically making up for the monopoly, and hasn't really been used the best it could (as it's been on NFLN instead of ESPN or NBC).

The solution is simple: Don't let Dallas schedule cupcakes, get the late game on to a NATIONAL network, and...well, not sure what to do about Detroit, but bottom line is, they're the oldest of the traditions; getting rid of it would kill that team.

Stafford & Johnson are active today. Could make things more interesting.

I wouldn't be surprised if they win today.

The Pack did lose Kampman and Harris last Sunday as well.

Now I have to decide whether or not to keep Megatron on the bench... and I have 20 minutes. Fark.

me too, but i figure he's gotta be better than some random waiver pickup, so i'm going for it.

The lions' pregame psyche-up was... uh.. Yeaaaaaah.

Odds we see Russell on the bench eating a turkey leg? +120

Raider fans have a lot to be thankful for this year. Al Davis is a year closer to death, JaMarcus Russell is finally riding the bench, and they get to humiliate the Cowboys in front of a national audience.

/hopefully

I'm feeling like it will be a shootout in Detroit today for some reason...

In honor of turkey day, the Raiders should start Russell.

I like Detroit on as the early Thanksgiving Day game.

It's the football game you can afford to sort of put on ignore if you have other shiate to do early in the day. Help cook, make a late run to the liquor store, sleep in late if hung over. Whatever.

It's like the plate of hors d'oeuvres you can ignore for a while if you're chatting up some chick at a party.

If they actually put a "must-see" game on at 10:30am MT, I'd have to actually have my shiate together.
