I suppose you'll find that out once the pardoned turkey registers a dozen dead underage prostitutes to vote.

Obama was president during the bailout and Clinton was president during Ruby Ridge.

I love the short memories of the right-wing.

AIG and GM were turkeys pardoned by Bush.

I think they should only do it if the news has been boring for the past month.

LOL... he must have been secretly thinking about for weeks.

He probably had a meeting last night with all the key staff members to get "what he needed" to make a decision.

God I love Foxnews.com (no, not really)...

Their headline for President Bush pardoning turkeys:

2 Turkeys Pardoned, Going to Disney World

Their headline for President Obama pardoning turkeys:

Obama Hams It Up at Thanksgiving Turkey Pardon
(note: this headline has changed on actual page but still appears on their front page and the first sentence of the article)

It gets better, from the article:

"So today, all told, I believe it's fair to say that we have saved or created four turkeys," he joked, alluding to his $787 billion economic stimulus package that has drawn criticism for the number of jobs the White House has claimed it has created.

It's official, they can distort anything!

Democrats are dumb too, see this guy:

Precious Roy's Horse Dividers: So how long until some right-wing moran finds a problem with this, even though it is a silly tradition that every president does?

Not ever president does it, and not every president has done it. It is thought to have officially started with the first president Bush. Left wingers sure are retarded, because a few of them (like you)say stupid things without checking the facts.

I think its a rather stupid tradition that they pardon a live turkey for a media show but they have a turkey dinner at the white house with a different dead turkey.

Seriously, if you are gonna eat tukey don't have the silly pardoning ceremony, if you are gonna have the stupid pardoning ceremony have tofurky.

I don't care if it Obama, Bush, Clinton, or someone way back doing it, its still stupid and hypocritical. Does this make me a troll?

Yes, damn that President Obama & his elitist thought process! "Full speed ahead" & "Consequences, what consequences?" worked so well for 8 years...

Also, the headline, tho inaccurate, was funny.

If you think it is a stupid tradition in general, why did you feel the need to respond to Precious Roy's Horse Dividers?

PRHD was obviously talking about those Farkers that find fault with the things Obama does simply because it's Obama who does them. If you find fault with the thing independently of the personality of the sitting president, HE'S NOT TALKING TO YOU!

In a private ceremony, Obama also pardoned these two.

Not ever president does it, and not every president has done it.

Bush started it.

I thought this year's ceremony was nice. I thought Obama made a nice, self-deprecating remark about turkeys "saved or created". Very funny. His rhetoric afterward was a little flat. Obviously not words he wrote. All in all Obama did a great job.

We'll see how he does at WP when he announces the troop increase. A much tougher room.

Precious Roy's Horse Dividers 2009-11-25 02:31:13 PM
Bush I was the first to have an official ceremony, but some sources indicate it may go back unofficially to the Truman administration. Don't hold me to that 100% though, internet may be wrong.
