I don't think the "threats" are overt enough to be taken as such (There's a mention of the officer and then then sight and the sound of a gunshot. That's not the same as an "I'm going to shoot you.") and can't be taken out of the larger social and political commentary provided by the rap. As videos go, it's by far not the worst I've ever seen.

But professional rappers do this all the time. Eminem's famous for his thinly veiled threats against his ex-wife, and tons of others have petty feuds with each other so they can sound big threatening each other on their albums.

Personally, I think both the pros and the amateurs should have leeway in their chosen form of art. Just because a rapper says it doesn't mean it's true or is going to be acted upon. But it's silly to say it's OK for the stars to do it but not the kids.

Cut the lady and her son a break; they're from New Bedford. That's where those Einsteins from A Perfect Storm were based. The town is more bad than good, although I know a guy who bought a nice house there in one of the few good sections of that town.

I came here to say this. Seriously, a bunch of Middle Eastern guys put a couple planes into towers in New York City, and that justifies arresting United States citizens for youtube videos that dno't constitute a direct threat? Logic is hard.

I don't think the "pros" post the names of their targets so that any fan can do them a favor by looking for said target.
