If it's a joke, it's a pretty poor one. Not poor as in "That's terrible! Brain injuries are no laughing matter!" but poor as in "Where's the LOLZ??!?"

Actually the best joke is that the Steelers lost to the Chiefs on Sunday.

Although his brain might pretend that he just lost a game to the 1986 Chicago Bears instead of the 2009 Kansas City Chiefs.

Damnit, I was hopin we'd get to see Dixon in action.

With Roflsburger hurt, and Troy out again, Steelers are in trouble me thinks.

Damnit! And here I was hoping that Ben was actually hurt. I say take our chances with the thrid-string QB. Its not like Ben isn't setting the world on fire this year. So what that he threw for 400 farking yards, did we win? Nope, because included in those 400 yards were three Ben-created turnovers.

What the hell!?! I was reading the article to come up with some kind of rape joke and I stumbled across this:

"It could be characterized as a mild concussion, but I hesitate to use the word mild because concussions are not anything to be taken mildly," Tomlin said. "We're proceeding with caution. ... If any symptoms re-occur, or he feels less than fine, we're going to act appropriately."

Stop acting like a compassionate human being Coach Tomlin. This is football.

On a semi-serious note, it is a relief to see the NFL start to take concussions seriously. I hope it isn't just for show. I also hope the NCAA starts to take them seriously too. If Gator Jesus didn't have a bye the week after his concussion I wouldn't have been surprised if he played. Michigan didn't seem to take Tate Forcier concussion that seriously either. Now that I think about it the stupid ass Eagles didn't take Brian Westbrook's concussion seriously enough. Oh well, Tomlin is at least saying the right things. That is a step in the right direction.

I don't actively hope for opposing players to get injured (not accusing you of anything), but was certainly hoping to see people who swore the Palmer injury had nothing to do with losing in 05 playoffs (or the next year while he was still gimpy... or last year when he was out all year).

Move from CC Sabathia to Homer Bailey... big leaguers? yep, both. Equal talent? nfw.

No, I don't actively hope for opposing players to be hurt unless its Chad Mediaattentionwhore. I hope for the QB on my team to be knocked out so we can have a QB that won't get sacked a bajillion times because he holds onto the farking ball too damn long!

Can one of you PA Farkers go punch him in the thinker so the Ravens can win this weekend? Please?

I actually came to the opposite conclusion yesterday while watching Sportscenter. They were all, "The NFL announced today a new policy, effective immediately, of requiring players with concussions to be examined by an independent neurologist. In other news, Ben Roethlisberger has been diagnosed with concussion-like symptoms, and has told friends and family that he will play on Sunday."

Pfft. Concussions. What a wuss injury. "Long-term consequences" are a total myth. Look at Troy Aikman: he suffered ten.. TEN concussions in his career and he came out just fine. If there was any evidence of cognitive issues, do you think Fox would have risked partnering him with Joe Buck?

Where'd you hear this at? Tomlin said the tests showed no symptoms. Just curious, I hadn't heard that he had any symptoms at this point.

Might've been Stafford? They had a whole rundown of injured QBs, several of them with "concussion-like symptoms" but strangely none of them were diagnosed with concussions.
