The bright side is that they could easily be 0-14. The one win was on a last second shot.

Can we just reiterate how monumentally stupid it was to draft another guy at Rubio's position when Rubio could easily stay in Europe? Becuase that was monumentally stupid.

And I like Jonny Flynn. But come on.

Right, because an insanely creative passer with great handle who held his own in a Gold Medal game against Chris Paul and Jason Kidd at age 17 totally has no future. My bad.

He does need a jumper. And to get a bit tougher on D. But otherwise, holy crap.

I dont know a single person who has watched or been to a Wolves game this year, and I live in the burbs of Minneapolis.

The Brett Favres are doing too well for any of us to care about other sports.

I live right downtown and walk by Target Center when there are Wednesday and Friday games, and I don't think a scalper could pay me to go sit in a game this year.

I have, however, watched a game at the bar, but I was disgusted the whole time. Ick.

Yeah, except you're asking him to live in freaking Minnesota when he can wait them out a couple years and hit the market as a RFA, forcing the team to at least pony up significant bucks if he's going to be stuck in that icebox.

DRAFTING Rubio wasn't the problem. The problem was not trading him to the Knicks or some other team.

Rubio's trade value in 3 years > Rubio's trade value now.

Possibly or possibly not. You also delay your rebuilding efforts for three years

A: Homeless...

I'll be at the Target Center on Friday watching them play the Suns. Wish me luck.

All that matter is that we got rid of McHale. The joy of that farker leaving will balance out the sorrows of a 1-81 record.

don't worry, it's the NBA. Teams can finish sub-.500 and still get in the playoffs.

Contrabulous Flabtraption 2009-11-24 01:25:58 PM
Haha, stupid NBA preseason analysts who said the Kings would be the worst. We're only going to be 3rd worst!

Perhaps I've misunderstood the NBA rules on drafting. Don't players reenter the draft if they've not been signed within a year of their drafting?

its like 3 years or so. Pretty much Minny owns Rubio for the foreseeable future. Which we should turn into a decent player, anyone really would be nice instead of starting bench players and calling ourselves a basketball team.

The Shoveller: And yet the Nets are still jealous of all their success.....

The T'wolves deserve everything they're reaping, but I've actually felt bad for the Nets. I'm not sure what their "DNP-Injured" list looks like right now (I'm pretty sure Devin Harris is still out), but I remember at one point they had like eight guys out at the time time - three of which were starters - and one of those out had the swine flu.

I mean, come on. Eight guys out, one with swine flu. That's not just a bad way to start the season, that's the punchline to a really unfunny joke.

/not even a nets fan

Looking at their stats, there is a very good chance this goes down as one of the worst teams in the history of the league. Your current margin is -14.1 and your only win was by two points against the winless Nets on a buzzer-beater. Al Jefferson is playing like he wants to be traded out of town, Kevin Love is hurt, and the rest of your team simply sucks. Wouldn't be surprised if they win 11 or 12 games.

whereisthebox 2009-11-24 09:16:24 PM
The Nets have a much better future, though, with the new Russian billionaire owner and the short-term surge in revenue they'll get from moving to a new neighborhood (Brooklyn). They're also in solid rebuilding mode with goals in mind; they gave up their aging superstars (Kidd, Carter) so they have money for James/Wade/Bosh. They have the financial means to be very active next summer; also, the new owner, better location makes them more appealing to play for.

It wasn't that long ago that a new owner turned around a team that hadn't made the playoffs in 10 years and they became an NBA force and NBA Finals runner-up.

The T-wolves, on the other hand, are hosed.

You're in for a treat watching my man Jared Dudley play off the bench. I think you'll agree he's a joy to watch, so tenacious. Dudley is my favorite unexpected surprise in an all-around great Suns year.

/Pity you won't see much of Nash and Stoudamire
