Damn you, don't scare me like that!

Saw them at Carnegie Hall last month. 2 1/2 hours of pure win. It's amazing how they were able to pare that down, seamlessly, to under an hour.

My plan...It is working, I see.
With Kassel a retiree,

For limericks. Of course,
I'm humbly referring to ME.

Meanwhile, Zombie Daniel Schorr continues to rant about buying fruit with a coupon, holding up a line of people to return it, and blaming it all in Bush.

Listen for it.

Kasell will remain the judge and scorekeeper of "Wait Wait ... Don't Tell Me!,' NPR's weekly news quiz show.

Good. That's my favorite show on NPR.

I prefer Fresh Air, simply because it's more informative and I'm a huge fan of Terry Gross. Heard a story today about Uganda upping the punishment against homosexuals to include the death penalty.

Wait, Wait is great, but a little too cheery to report sometimes unpleasant, complex news.

Talk about a voice for newspaper...

I don't hear her on the local NPR station, though she's on NPR Talk on Sirius a lot.

NPR News lost me when they dumped Bob Edwards. I am glad Carl will still be on Wait, Wait. I still try to catch that game show every week.

Your limerick's clever, MaxxLarge
But somehow I feel it lacks charge
If something's amiss,
You should...
um...
Screw this. Let's get drunk and steal Click and Clack's cars.

I catch it once or twice a week. I have to catch All Things Considered everyday and I don't feel like listening to NPR three hours straight, so I mostly skip it. I just love Wait, Wait because it's like a game show designed for Farkers, and it one of the very few things that gets me to literally hold my sides in laughter.

WFern: Side note: does anyone hate Michael Feldman's Whad'Ya Know? as much as I do? Wait, Wait gets an hour, but that piece of crap gets the two that follow?

Yes. He's not entertaining and does not inform, and seems like an intolerable douche. I don't see why people listen to that show.

it's a news quiz show. the panelists are comedians and satirists.
fresh air is an actual news show. they're expected to bring the bad occasionally. not riff on it.

Lordy, how I love Not My Job. Neko Case and her Civil Qar obsession. Mahalia Jackson and her stories of dating Bob Dylan. That great appearance by the voice of Elmo where he weirded out Peter Segal by almost overlapping Elmo with his own voice.

/Gets an inordinate amount of his news from Wait, Wait... and The Daily Show.

In addition to being hot sex on a stick, Neko Case was hilarious.

Really could've done without that douche from Stormchasers though...

From what I've read on Wikipedia (and if its on there, it must be true), they're working on making it a TV show, too. So now will you not only be able to hear the dentures clack, you'll get to see them fall out of his mouth from time to time.

Which is good that it isn't a news show and is, instead, a game show.

Fun-nee. In Chicago there were lots of complaints when the doofus WBEZ program director, Torey Malatia, when he first created Wait, Wait, put it between Car Talk and W'dya Know on tape delay at Saturday mornings. He was accused of forcing Wait, wait down the throats of listeners.

I thought "Wait, wait" was lame in the early days, where it should be "Lame? Wait! It gets lamer!"

Now I like Wait, wait.

Now "W'dya Know?" is not on WBEZ at all while "Wait, wait" is on both Saturday and Sunday.

/I'll still never forgive Malatia for dropping Piano Jazz
//Live far enough north that I can get Wisconsin public radio. Stuff it Torey!

Car talk is the same show played over and over again with a couple of calls mixed in where they talk about the same stuff and laugh at each other.
