There is still time for him to get in on the Wild Hogs/Old Hogs franchise.

Meet the Parents was such a terrible, terrible movie. That was very disappointing because Meet the Fockers was hilarious.

I'm still waiting for the sequel to Ishtar

What, did Hoffman buy a winning Lotto ticket?

Being in movies like this is easier, the payoff is bigger, and you don't have to worry about losing the ticket.

You're nutty, the original is a classic, it was the sequel that sucked.

Ishtar wasn't all that bad. I mean it's not in my collection or anything but it wasn't as horrible as it was made out to be.

I think he might be getting them confused. If the original is good and the sequel sucked, that is disapointing. If the original sucked and the sequel was good, that is surprising.

Strike that, reverse it.

So what? The movie will make a shiatload of $$ with or without him.

I saw it in the theatre when it came out. I just remember it being the longest damn movie I'd ever seen. It dragged on for like 3 or 4 days. I'll have to find it and watch it again.

Well, it won't be a "Dumb and dumberer" but it'll be a helluva' sequel!

I was wondering if they were going to go that route with none of the original actors.

/just put the Hoffman character on a bus

What I don't get is this...Ben Stiller puts out a flick like Tropic Thunder which (though I thought it was over-rated) gets critical acclaim aplenty, and then he's going to turn around and do another "Focker does stupid, embarrassing ridiculous stuff" movie to follow that up? The guy can't need money like Nic Cage, why doesn't he just say "No, I don't want to make a sh*t movie, I'll hold off and make something that is halfway decent because I can now."

Look at it this way, it practically guarantees Teri Polo will get nekkid in Playboy again to try and shamelessly promote the movie.

The third folm in a trilogy has an EXCELLENT chance of being sucktacular.

But yes I agree it will make a metric a$$-load of $$$$ no matter who is in it thanks to all those Real Americans (tm) out there.

Ishtar wasn't a terrible movie at all - the CASTING was terrible. I love Hoffman and Beatty but they were all wrong for that movie. If it had been cast with a more believable comedy team like Bill Murray and Harold Ramis, the movie would have been pretty good.

Classic example of casting tanking a movie.

Indiana Jones one needs fixin'. Although I am in the minority with the opinion that Last Crusade is the best film in the series, it is a certified fact that it beats the crap out of Temple of Doom. Anything goes, indeed.

And Godfather 1 was superior to 2. Some of music in 2 outright sucked. They were going for eerie or something, but it just turned out crappy. Still my favorite movie series, though.

I watched the first forty minutes or so. It must have gotten a LOT better.

But I'll take your word for it.

Come to his senses = he has invested money more wisely than most actors

Seriously. This movie will be comically strained but well recieved enough by the general public to be a comercial sucess.

Turning this down, particularly by an actor who has a rep that could deal witha paycheck role with no damage means they just dont care to do it.

Jaws 3 was NOT better than 2. 2 still had Brody in it and he was a badass. Jaws 3 was horrible.
