Hah, the joke is on the crib industry. If he dies, we'll just make another one.

Jeez, your folks made you buy your own crib? I've heard of strict bootstrapping parenting, but that seems a little over the top.

I don't trust anything with wooden slats after seeing how bloodthirsty those f**kers can be.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission said parents should immediately stop using Stork Craft drop-side cribs, which are made by Stork Craft Manufacturing Inc., of British Columbia, Canada.

Englebert Slaptyback 2009-11-23 07:49:03 PM
A new crib built by my company leaves and ends up in someone's house. The slats fall out. The crib crashes and burns with the kid trapped inside. Now, should we initiate a recall? Take the number of cribs in the field, A, multiply by the probable rate of failure, B, multiply by the average out-of-court settlement, C. A times B times C equals X. If X is less than the cost of a recall, we don't do one.

Actually, today's recall is for Stork Craft, not Simplicity.

Article must've been updated, though.

"the said"???

WTF does that mean?

zez 2009-11-23 07:50:55 PM
How much do you want to bet the cribs weren't assembled properly by the parents rather than a design defect in the crib.

2.1 million cribs recalled because of 110 incidents.... For all you math challenged people:

0.0055% of the cribs made were defective

I'm sorry but go about your business this is not that big of an issue. I know 5 kids died but seriously look at the odds of it happening.
