Montalvan, who suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury, uses his golden retriever, Tuesday, to keep him calm.

Somehow, this is probably related.

I highly doubt McDonald's employees BEAT A GUY UP because he brought a service dog into a McDonald's restaurant. Since when has a fast food employee been that passionate about any sort of store policy?

exactly. This smells extremely fishy.

The employees at McDonalds probably didn't recognize that this was a service dog, because the guy was clearly NOT blind, and that's all they know about. Also, he uses the dog to keep calm, but that's not the same as needing him all the time, I would assume.

Good thing it was a golden retriever and not a black lab... Then it would be a hate crime...

Did you read the comments on this article? The first one is about how McDonalds is a plot to make black people fat. Ahhh...the comment section of the New York Post. It makes freerepublic look like a mensa meeting.

Before I read TFA, I thought this was about a vet having a heart attack from eating too much of McD's rat shiat food.

While he doesn't deserve 10 million for this, making corporations pay large amounts of money for doing shiat like this is the only way to get changes made.

But the third time he went back he should have left the dog in the car while he took pictures.

A decorated disabled Iraqi War veteran is slapping McDonald's with a $10 million lawsuit -- claiming he was pummeled by employees at a Brooklyn franchise when he tried to bring his service dog into the restaurant.

Good thing he didn't try that in Chinatown.

Unless things have taken a turn for the worse for Degeneration X, I seriously canæt believe two MickyD employees would care enough about their McJob to actually assault a man for bringing a dog into a "resturant".

Maybe a power-tripping McD shift manager, but they tend to not come in pairs.

sounds like he tried thrice, the first time he was turned away he lodged a complaint, so McDonalds put up stickers saying service dogs were allowed, second time he was turned away he came back with a camera to take pictures of the stickers, which is when he says they beat him up.

last time i was in germany (2004) the (now-ex) wife and i were in walmart...it was a 2 story wm, and had mattresses and furniture on the 2nd floor, which was only about 1/3 the size of the 1st floor. we were taking photos to show the difference to folks back home in america. a wm employee very hastily and sternly told us to quit taking pics...i think i may have gotten beaten up had i not complied

That just sounds to me that a restaurant somewhere in New York is gonna get a brand shiny new staff.

You're not actually supposed to take photos inside of most stores especially of their product.

Sounds like we're not getting the whole story here. Like someone already said, mcd's employees don't care enough about their jobs to enforce any policy, real or what they think is real. I find it unlikely that he was kicked out the second time simply for having a service dog.

yeah...i knew that must've thought we were spying or something...it wasn't any sort of closeup shots, just general wide shots of the store with a point-n-shoot digital...but i knew his thought quickly and apologized and quit shooting.

however i never have this sort of confrontation in the usa. there's been many times i've taking camera-phone shots to send to someone to see if they wanted such&such item for that particular price

The men allegedly beat him for two minutes

The average McD can't remember something you asked for a minute and a half ago. Where do these guys get the attention span to beat a dude for two whole minutes?

I bring my dog inside McDonald's instead of leaving him in the car. I sneak him in a booth and feed him fries. When he travels with me, I find a McDonald's and get a large fry and go through drive through...and feed him fries on the way home.

I love my Golden Retriever. More human than dog. Listens better than my kids do.
