Three days of taking body blows nationally from conservative pundits, a rebuke from the Lehigh Valley's congressman and even a lashing from his own union led Balzano to voluntarily resign his position Thursday as head of the local Service Employees International Union.

Balzano said he and seven other executive officers of the local SEIU stepped down.

I'm neutral on Unions (I belong to one, and it's a good one, but I also recognize the fact that there are some out there that have gotten so fat that the greed outweighs the need.), but c'mon, these guys are in the fu*king janitor's union. Of course they're a little touchy.

See, that's part of the problem, a website sells crap in a sidebar and if it's not YOUR choice of party, it has to be slanted. If i had access to a popular book and got money back from your order or click, i'm putting it on the site. It is a sell.

Many, possibly most, union supporters are no more stupid than the right wingers who think the politicians or pundits they support give a shiat about them or the values they pretend to adhere to. Same thing goes for the left too.

Fact is those in power are going to do whatever they can to gather more power, and since the dawn of man there is only one easy route to getting any limited resource = take it away from someone else. The only innovation is that now they have better ways of convincing people to surrender it willingly, and control of a media willing to convince us that such claims are some sort of kooky conspiracy.

I don't really give a crap about this SEIU local, but I also wouldn't care one bit about standing up for the rights of some kid who chooses to support an organization whose administration has been completely coopted by mormons, and that accepts gay-bashing while calling itself a philantrhopic organization. Fark the boy scouts right in the merit badge.

Kid wants to do charity? Fine. More power to him. He wants to do it while wearing the uniform of an organization that embraces hypocrisy and hate? Fark him. Teach him about the real world, and that who you choose to align yourself with matters.
