Fark Party
Host: Jonesy Boogieman
Description: Edmonton Fark Party Planning Thread
Date/Time: December 12, 2009 - 07:00 PM (local time)
Party Info: We're looking at around the date of Saturday, Dec. 12 at Hudson's downtown, just west of Grant MacEwan.

If this is a good time and place, we'll need a few people to show up around 5:00-5:30 to grab a few tables for us, and get an early start on the drink and food. ;)

I like it.

my wife (Craicbaby) and I will do what we can to be there. Wouldn't want to miss an opportunity to drink.

If I'm able, I'd be happy to try and show up early enough to help keep the seats available, as a saturday is always pretty busy in that area.

I'm still going to be out of the country :(

Have fun though.

I'm planning on being there early, and I think Bob_Laublaw will be too.

There is a joke here about Edmonton only taking reservations in threes, as that's the maximum number of people you can fit into the cab of a pickup truck ...

Seriously, you can't reserve a big table or a section?

Could be a couple more years :)
Nice to see the hometown show some spirit though.

Maybe some lurker-celebrity Farkers might show up to add some sizzle to the proceedings.

I just discovered that Nathan Fillion was born in Edmonton.

Also from the vicinity are:

Babes:
Natasha Henstridge
Elisha Cuthbert
Jill Hennessy
Rae Dawn Chong

Funnymen:
Tommy Chong
Michael J. Fox (he could mix the shaker cocktails!)
Bruce McCulloch
Leslie Nielsen

That would be a party worth attending.

On a Saturday night, at a popular bar, during the holidays, in the downtown core, with a past attendance of around 30? Not likely but working on it. :)

I'm reminded of the Seinfeld episode about him making a reservation for a rental car ... ... ...

PhD candidate in paleontology/geochemistry, eh? Congrats! Ever been to Goblin Valley State Park (^) in Utah? It's supposed to be similar to Drumheller, but much larger. I was curious if they have a fossil record like Drumheller (^). :)

LOL Yeah (^)

Oh, and Tricia Helfer is from Alberta too. Not too close to Edmonton though, but I'm sure someone wouldn't mind picking her up and bringing her to the party.

Oh yes of course ... I knew I was missing one. At least. I'm sure there are others.

Never been to Goblin Valley, but I've spent LOTS of time in Drum. I'm not a dino guy, so my localities tend to be a bit different from those that are widely publicized.
