At least as a balloon, he doesn't have to worry about the New York City winters bleedin' him.

Yep, if there were ever two things that Charlie Brown needed, it was some little red-headed nookie, and to beat Lucy van Pelt to an inch of her farking football-swiping life.

Why did they change the route? It's not like Charlie Brown was asking workman's wages or anything.

What the article failed to mention WHY the new route is going into effect. Supreme Leader Bloomturd has effectively turned Broadway in midtown into a pedestrian mall, complete with planters, tables and chairs and information booths. It is no longer a street. This douche is trying to turn Manhattan into some tourist attraction as opposed to the functioning city that it is.

You want to know how bad its gotten for him? Even the JEWS have turned on him. He only won an ILLEGAL 3rd term because he bought off the city council and spent more money on this election than most presidential candidates.

actaully, thats fine.

He was running against a guy who was a failure at his previous post of City Comptroller (side note: a position being taken over by a guy who's father was part of a bank embezzlement scheme).

The guy i wanted, Tony Avella, didnt make it past the primaries, simply because the democratic party didn't support him. Thats what happens when you do the right thing and throw every other politician under the wheels of the bus (where they deserve to be), including fellow democrats, and refuse to bow down to special interest groups.

If you are not in someone pocket, you have no chance. Its disgusting.

I think "41 years older than they did when Paul Simon wrote that song" pretty much sums it up.

Complete pedestrian mall with no cars at ALL, not just nice wide sidewalks in addition?

Chicago can tell you that didn't work out so well for State Street, they've long since turned it back into a street (albeit with nice wide sidewalks).

/like watching the parade on TV
//ever since I was a kid it just seemed one of those very "American" things, in a good way

mayor bloomberg got all pissy about his congestion pricing plan not getting approved, so he created a bunch of pedestrian areas along broadway. there are benches, tables, and giant planters all along broadway. in most areas in midtown, broadway is now only 2 lanes (it used to be 4). and there are big sections, like the entire times square and herald square sections that are completely closed to traffic.

i think it was easier for the macys to re-route the parade than the city to move everything out of the way so the parade could stay on broadway.

About once a year my dad used to warn my mom to leave the house, then play The Boxer (and the Hallelujah Chorus) with the volume turned to 11. That was basically the only time he used his stereo. One of my favorite memories.

There was no reason to drive on Broadway through Times Square in the first place.
