I was rooting for Griffin, but will admit that I could have seen the decision go the other way.

That being said, Ortiz's ranting and biatching tirade after the match made me very glad that he lost. GTFO of here, you Hunington Beach Douche Hat.

the worst part about the whole thing was that before the decision was read tito said to forrest, "if you win, we can do a third one". It was like he wanted to lose so he could get another big pay day.

What?!? You mean.. a submitter submitted a headline that wasn't 100% original and non-derivative?

I do not understand the end of this headline. Can somebody translate that into English please?

This was a great card overall. The Griffin fight was fun, Ben Saunders is a scary scary beast, and even though Koscheck is a cocky bastard he sure is talented. Also, his choke was nice but I would have given Submission of the Night to Sotiropoulos, the setup to that armbar was a thing of beauty.

Griffin Ortiz isnt a fight you would fix morons. Rashad Eevans Vs Rampage-Thats a big draw. A Lesnar/Carwin. Not two guys everyone has alot of questions about.

Agreed. His BJJ is SOO underrated. That transition from one sub to the next till one works, is BJJ instinct. You cant teach ppl to do it that fast. Geaorge is young too, we will see alot of him!

I thought last night was very fun. I didn't like that Kos match though. The mere sight of Kos fills me with nerd rage. Whether it's Hardy or GSP, I hope he gets smeared all over the mat.

Those shenanigans ruined that particular fight for me. Decent card overall but worth nowhere near 50 dollars. The best fight of the night wasn't even on pay-per-view.

The ACTUAL eyepoke that was unmistakable that Kos threw at Rumble?
Or the may be a eyepoke where Rumbles hand grazes Kos's forehead that also involved the knee?

There was alot of illegal blows last night it seemed, more then at any other UFC event I've witnessed.

I agree...they should hold an event in Japan where the Nevada sanctioning body rules don't apply. It's been a while since I've seen a really good head stomping.

Americans just can't handle some things.....like kneeing a downed opponent...or ...well or a nipple slip for that matter.

As much as I think relaxed rules made the sport a better competition, it would have been a matter of time before some guy took a dozen knees to the head and was dead by the end of the day.

I was more-or-less commenting on the perception. The only difference between boxing and mixed martial arts in the United States is what socioeconomic class they get their thugs from.

If you're going to poke the eye, you're supposed to do it Chuck Liddell style and use your thumb.

Of course, once you do the Japan rules, you lose the elbows. This means a lot less nowadays that Ortiz isn't on top.

Strange decision, given the scoring that led to it(one judge gave Griffin all 3 rounds). UFC needs to find away to get around the poor judging. It's a fighters job to finish the fight, but it ends up marring the sport when they don't and crap like this happens on every card. Institute the 10 minute first round that Pride utilized and I imagine you'll get a lot less fights left up to the judges.

If you gave the first round to Tito, you are an mma idiot.

The second, possibly, if you forget that Forrest swept Tito and kneed him repeatedly.

Controversy my ass.

One of the first fights I have missed in a long time, but reading the live blog coverage, I don't see anyone who saw it as suspicious at all. One even noted that the crowd booed Tito for making excuses about an injury during training.

This. I mean you would assume judging would get better over time but it seems like it has been worse lately. That final round between Forrest and Ortiz should've been a 10-8 round. Ortiz did nothing accept stay awake. Maybe make the third round longer or something. I wouldn't mind it going to the judges but it seems lately the judges are watching a different fight than what is on.

Twist-42 2009-11-22 10:46:10 PM
Tito landed a few good hits, took Forrest down a couple times but other than an elbow or 2 didnt manage to do anything spectacular when he had him down.
Forrest defended as well as he could have and in the stand up exchanges it was hardly a question who was winning the stand up game and the 3rd round wasnt even close. Tito barely threw a punch.

If you think Tito won that fight, go watch it again.

plus Tito is a putz of epic proportions and he could go die in a fire or something.

Moopy Mac 2009-11-23 12:04:58 AM
Both Cane and Lil Nog could take Griffin/Ortiz. What a waste of a main event (talent-wise).

I'm one of the MMA nooBs--I'd like to watch it again. I thought Ortiz won the first round and that the second could have gone either way. I do think the third could have easily been 10-8, though.

As for laying around, there really wasn't much of that on this card, I didn't think. I was pretty pleased with it. Of course, I got it for free at the bar, so...

listen douche, i tried to like it. my son does it, ITS BORING! i boxed golden gloves and in the marine corp. MMA moves too slow for my liking. my son is a 3rd degree black belt in karate and two time state champion wrestler in high school. he likes it, I THINK IT MOVES TOO SLOW. what is so hard to understand about that?
