How would internet media die? I'd invest in icanhascheezburger before I'd invest in most print media.

I'm just pointing out that "serious" internet news are just as farked up as newspapers, even though I still hold the belief that neither will be completely gone.

What would Fark do if there were no newspapers or tv stations?

A truly smart cat wouldn't have gotten itself stuck on a utility pole.

I have never seen a dead cat in a tree, or up a pole.

Newspapers will be around as long as people have pet birds.

Hvae you ever seen a dead Pole up a cat?

LiberalWeenie 2009-11-21 09:50:14 PM
They would only have been able to film the rescue if the cat's owner called them there beforehand.

You left out radio, so I expect we'd still have Glenn Beck to kick around for a while.

cats on poles always attract attention.

What a cat gets into, they can get out of.

olddinosaur 2009-11-21 10:12:07 PM
I have never seen a cat climb into something it cannot climb out of.

Were that not so, then the trees and the utility poles would be littered with the skeletons of cats which climbed up there and died, yet I have yet to see a single one.

Think about it.

FredGarvin 2009-11-21 10:21:30 PM
Adapt or die, internet lack of media that doesn't work.

PS cats suck, and do not need to be rescued from any high place they might climb to.

Newspapers seems to do well in other parts of the world, especially Asia, and Internet access is just as good or better there. Why is that?

As dead as print is, the readers are fixed and it is difficult for a competitor. Any online media can be dead next year as readers move to the next hot thing.

dude, put the bong down and step away from the reefer. there is nowhere in the world, not a single time zone that is an hour and a quarter away from Saturday.

Her cat is really smot. I'm not sure what that means, but that's what she claimed.

olddinosaur: I have never seen a cat climb into something it cannot climb out of.

Once, I thought as you did.

I also had a cat. A dog chased the cat up a tree, it went about about 40 feet high. I thought "He'll come down".

Next day, he's still up there, and another and another. Finally, on the fifth day, I decided I had to go up after him or he'd die.

I got my ladder, propped it up and climbed, but I was about 10 feet short. Luckily the cat decided to jump down to me.

/ever had a cat jump on you while you are hanging onto the top of a 30 foot ladder? It's not pretty.
//He came claws first.
///It'd rained alot, so he had plenty of water to drink
////I think when they die they fall out of the tree

People always say that, and yet seem to forget that trees and utility poles are also full of crows and pigeons that eat carrion. So obviously, if a cat died up in a tree, any carcass that didn't fall out of the tree due to gravity would be devoured immediately by the scavengers and flies that are nature's garbage disposals.

Think about it.

I mean, don't think about it too much, because it's really gross, but when bodies decay, they're not going to just sit there and cleanly disintegrate until all that's left are bones.
