If I have learned anything from those Cash4Gold commercials, it is that you should never trust old balding Jewish women.

This reminds me of an old (1997) roommate's get rich quick scheme.

He was going to build CD duplication rigs out of a CD drive, CD burner, and just enough other stuff to make it work (286 PCs with DOS). Then he was going to spam the wares newsgroups with ads for these "piracy machines," sell a gajillion of them and become TEH RICH CRIMINAL MASTERMIND.

Problem: his criteria for determining if a potential customer was a cop/FBI were basically that anyone asking for contact information of any kind was a cop. When I asked him how he intended to sell them without providing an address to sent the check to, he threw a fit and accused me of being out to get him. Never mind that selling a PC with a CD burner wouldn't be illegal in the least.

I honestly think his Grand Master Plan was to have potential customers put the money under a rock in the park, then wait for a call to a pay phone telling them which dumpster to look behind for the machine.

You have no idea how hard it is to recycle copper these days. When we do tear downs and have copper pipe to recycle we have to:
1.Let them photo copy our drivers license
2.Have our photo taken with the pipe
3.Thumb print
4.Photo of our license plate
5.3 day waiting period to come back and pick up cash.

It's only worth it for lot's of money. Usually we have $500-1800 worth so it is worth our time but for the typical copper theif it's not.
