Grew up in Reading PA. Suprisingly never noticed these things even in Lancaster.

You've got to be kidding me... For a plywood bird? Suppose the PA Dutch do not know the value of a dollar/don't pay land taxes.

Disselfink is German dialect for "Thistle Finch", or the Goldfinch. The American Goldfinch is very fond of thistle seeds.
