In Jeddah there is a Saudi-German Hospital. And yes it did once say Saudi Germ Hospital. But it was the work of pranksters and wastrels, not random failure. Pic was around on the net some years ago but not seen it recently.

Putting up a neon sign is ALWAYS a dumb idea. One burnt-out letter and a store instantly looks cheap and tacky.

Smart people paint regular flat signs and light them with regular bulbs. Much easier and cheaper to replace.

There was a massive neon sign near a highway here, that was supposed to say FLOORS but it said FLOOPS. My friend's boyfriend was oddly fascinated by this, and every time we drove be, he'd be happily repeating "Floops!" for hours. He was sort of a stoner though.
