What weighs more? 0 or 1? I'm guessing they weigh the same, but what do I know?

This is why the internet should be a series of trucks. We could just drive them over; no need for shipping.

Why are they just weighing iPhones and Blackberries? There are other phones that receive web services too.

A few years back I calculated how much money I'd have if I had a nickel for every minute of my life I've wasted.

It was a lot, and would be even more now. Let me see...

Why don't we try to see how much Universe weighs, so we can see how much we can fill in it. Cause that's basically what you're asking of the Internet.

If you want something simpler, weigh the oceans. See how much you can fill in it.

deadapostle: What weighs more? 0 or 1? I'm guessing they weigh the same, but what do I know?

I would say that 1 weighs more as 1 electronically means on and 0 is off. An "on" state in the memory register means it has electrons in it (or at least extra ones). Electrons have mass. Of course no scale could weigh the difference as electrons are really very light. (And one could also point out that they would probably be elsewhere in your computer anyways and thus it might be moot as well as trivial.)

/Bear in mind I was referring to a "1" or "0" in memory and not displayed on the screen. If it is on the screen the bit map which is made up of 1s and 0s in memory will be using electrons so it probably depends on the font. It would also depend on what technology your screen is using. I am not sure if the electricity usage for the screen itself would be any different and details like color would probably be factors. It would almost certainly involve far more electricity than than a few memory bits. Off course it would still be extraordinarily trivial if there is a difference.

IIRC from the computer engineering classes I took, a 0 uses more electricity than a 1.
