I'm reposting this thread today since some of you might have missed Monday's thread Mondays HOY nomination thread.

We're halfway through November, which is when Fark starts gearing up for our annual Headline of the Year contest. All of the headlines that were given a nod in our weekly Headline of the Week posting are given an automatic entry into the contest, but there have been some really strong weeks where some of your favorites might not have been given the attention they deserved. This is especially true with the subtabs, where only three from each of the major categories (sports, geek, business, politics showbiz) make it through for Headline of the Week recognition.

So here is your chance to nominate a particularly good headline from 2009 that should be considered, go ahead and post it here. I usually bold the headline and then paste the link address as text below it, but that's me.

In addition to the usual headline contest, we also will accept nominations for some of the other categories, including:

- Parents of the Year
- Pun/wordplay headlines
- Dumbass of the Year

And this year, for the first time, there's going to be some recognition for headlines that don't stand on their own, but are hilarious within the context of the link.
