Is it just me, or does "vomitoxin" sound like something the villain threatens to poison the reservoir with in a James Bond movie? I can't believe that actually exists.

It wouldn't be such a threat if the scientists who invented it had named it "puppysnuggles" or "marshmallowcoccus" or some such.

Sounds like something Prescott Pharmaceuticals would make as an alternative to botox.

I was thinking more the West-era Batman, but I think we're on the same wavelength.

Ahh, ADM. The company that you are a customer of, whether you actually want to be or not.

Actually, "marshmallowcoccus" sounds none too enjoyable.

ADM is the single greatest threat in the world to health. We (you) are dying because of them. Me, I'm consciously trying very hard not to be killed by ADM, but they have their toxic paws into everything edible - or what they call edible.

conductormtm [TotalFark] 2009-11-20 03:20:13 PM
This is a livestock disease. It only makes the moo cows vomit. I work in crop insurance and these sort of things happen. Alflatoxin is more common in corn, though. Vomitoxin is only one thing that can lower prices. Smut is another.

You don't even what to know what is going to be making my beet soup creamier this Thanksgiving!

Revenge on offensive in-laws. I has it!

The year before was fiddlehead soup.

The year before that was garden rocket soup.

Next year it's a toss-up between flooted pumpkin, cream of sum young gui, and, sierra leone bologi soup.

If you have in-laws who have a problem with you - be careful who spoons up your dish if you know what I'm mean.

They're talking about dent corn here, not sweet corn.

The only risk to humans is that livestock animals will each the contaminated feed and get so sick they have to be put down, which could raise the price of meats.

Pretty much my thought, word-for-word, followed by "I can't believe how cool it is that some scientist actually named it that."

Uhm... this is the fault of ADM? Are you sure it's not a cultural issue, ie: Americans eat too much?

//My causation/correlation differentiation, let me show you it.
